LOVE this for more than one reason:

  • Coach MM knows exactly what kind of player he's getting with Ross, as Ross has played 3 seasons under his coaching.
  • Forsythe takes a seat and we possibly continue to see what we have in Jerrell at RT as he continues to grow with each snap.
  • More ILB help with confusion and misdirecting plays on defense.

Dammit. I'm not having a smart day. In addition to apparently not being able to read anymore, I got stranded for over half an hour earlier. Turns out that engine coolant is far less effective when you pour it into the wrong tank. I'm going to blame it on fatigue.

Anyway, back to the linebackers. A number of us raised concern in the offseason about our lack of LB talent and were usually told that it didn't matter because Mac would just coach them up. Looks like even good coaches need good players. One such example is Dan Quinn, whose job with the Commanders has been made easier at least partially because a certain middle linebacker they signed in the offseason has been killing it. I wish we had someone like that in the center of our defense.

Definitely something I would have blamed on my wife.

Don't feel too bad. I read John Ross too.

It's reasonable to conclude that Mcdonald seeking out a sort of mental makeup or competitiveness. There's not much physical upside to Ross, similar to Michael Barrett (who was cut from the PS in September).

I hope the letting go of Bobby and Brooks were the decision by Macdonald and Schneider. Not Schneider deciding that alone.

Always like players from the coach's previous tenure that were hidden away like this. This is the kind of depth piece we need (also need the top layer too though)
