How many fan boys out there posting that the Mariners are gonna trade a starting pitcher for a 36 year old guy wanting a new 200 million contract and a .250 hitting prospect. Are any of these rumor passing dudes actually Mariners fans? Mariners are not gonna spend. Be lucky to retain some of the players we have the next coupla years. It would be nice if some of these stories had some sort of basis in reality.

I’ve been reading about all the rumors… they don’t know anything, one guy says Emerson Hancock is mostly likely to be traded another says Castillo and then the next one says Gilbert. I think these rumors are started by opposing teams news media who are drooling over our pitching, and the returns they suggest…??!!! Get oughta here….

I doubt if they ever trade Gilbert or .. that other kid. If they did, it would have to be a Russell Wilson type trade.

Yeah I don’t think they can trade draft picks in MLB

Kinda interesting little read about this weird MLB rule

I think they should trade a starter for a bat or two but not for anyone mid 30s age.

Then you have guys like Salk who I like but he said Alex Bohm wouldn't be a good for the Ms because he's Jesse Winker 2.0. The entire organization and Ms media is so soft which rarely equates to winning. Look at the Mets. Winker goes to there. They spend money. They're hard asses. It's NY. So what. They make an NLCS run. With the Ms it's the opposite... Soft philosophy and no winning. Ms need to be more like an east coast team or be like the dodgers and SPEND.

The dumbest thing people believe handed down by owners is we're a mid market team and can't afford too free agents. Except they forgot to hide the fact that they are one of the top earning teams in the nation. Fake F'ing news.

This team makes enough money to pay for anyone if they want. They just don't want to and would rather rake in your money.

They'll trade one of their best prospects for a .217 hitting infielder who was an all-star 4 years aga. They do love their leftovers.

Do you think the low tolerance for mediocrity from east coast teams comes from the fan base

I think that this ownership is plenty satisfied with just being competitive and nothing more. Their top priority is making $, not winning titles.

It's part of it for sure. People in the East coast are more blunt and less tolerant, more likely to be hard asses on their sports teams. It's amazing actually how different of a vibe west coast people have. What sucks is the bias in favor of the East coast teams though we see it in pro and college.

How about opening up the wallet and BUY a few position players? It is done all the time, and it is the ONLY way the Loseriners will ever go to the World Series. Face it, they are the West Coast version of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

I'm hearing rumors about our targets being Cody Bellinger, Alec Bohm and Nico Hoerner as trade targets. I know Jerry has to work with what he's dealt but consider me uninspired.
