With his legal issues off the field it seems like he had a whole lot of aggression built up that he would take out on opponents.

Another member of the all-time underrated Seahawks team: the Mack Truck, Mack Strong. Lead blocker for 1,000 yard seasons for 3 different backs: Chris Warren, Ricky Watters, and Shaun Alexander. 14 years with the Hawks, from 1994 to 2007.

Mack Strong was one of the biggest reasons I was so pissed about Detroit and the rest of the NFL world making such a big deal about Bettis's long career, and celebrating him seemingly to the exclusion of all else.

He was with the Seahawks when they went to play in Foxborough in September of '84. I was there. I understood at the time that we were not getting the Franco Harris I had seen doing great things for the Steelers, so his complete non-contribution on the field that day was not at all a surprise to me. Still, I was happy to ask for his autograph after the game.

I'd go with Rawls for Seahawks uniform number 34. He's probably the player who did the most on the field with that number for the Seahawks, and if he hadn't had such awful injuries, he probably would have produced a lot more.

I could have gone w/o seeing this today. I didn't like it when we brought him in and hated it more with every passing day after. Probably a lot of childish bitterness after losing Warner. Seattle fawned over him...but it made me just shake my head.

Not saying I didn't like or respect FH...he was just old and couldn't play the game anymore.

Thanks for this rememberance of the 83-86 seasons. I was on a military mission in the Philippines and Korea during those years. We barely had radio get a game once in a while. So thanks very muchly to you all.

That season we brought in just about every RB retread except Jim Brown, in fact Brown was chiding Harris about how slow he was and that he could beat him in the 40, they actually raced and Harris won, but funny. Aros should be ashamed that he was able to find a picture of him in a Hawks Jersey. That had to take some work.
