It all depends on the defense and how they perform. We had an all time great defense carry the offense once before, we'll need that again to be relevant.

Payoff? Absolutely. Here's why?

-Better QB:
Schneider won't pick someone less capable than Geno Smith, will he?
-Better OL:
The Schnieder line is ready to shine without Geno Smith pulling them down.
-Better WR,
from body catcher Metcalf to all pro Cupp, huge improvement.

Winning NFC west is a given, we almost won that lest year.

Well hopefully the "Payoff" will be the Playoffs.

Seems to be a bit of a consensus. I hope it's not a case of confidence being that feeling you get when you are unaware of the true situation. :)

We all know what we have with the D. And they'll be atleast as good in '25. The OL should be better. Which is a safe bet since they couldn't have played much worse. Barner is going to kill in this new offense. Kupp will be on a mission and JSN will become a household name nationwide. Grubb had no idea of how to run the ball, not at U-Dub, not with the Hawks. Addition through subtraction there. Which brings me to Walker. If KW can stay even remotely healthy we've got a 3 headed monster that should help keep the D fresh. I doubt I could be any more excited than I am for '25.Especially going into a very deep and talented draft with a butt-load of great picks. Yeooooooowwwwwww!!! LFG!!!

I hope you're not under the impression that anyone is laughing with you at this point.

No. The defense is good enough but the offense is going to struggle. With a good O-Line this would be a below average offense, but right now you have a poor O-Line. Maybe the Draft will change things.

Claiming that the offense is going to struggle when we haven't even seen exactly how the offense will be run by Kubiak, is really putting the cart before the horse here.

The offense is going to be better than anyone thinks and it won't be below average, I'm going to safely assume that will be the case here.

We're due for a hard regression, mainly for two reasons. We were one of the healthiest teams in the league last year, and that isn't sustainable. Secondly, we can't depend on the division being as awful as it was again. We had basically no marquee wins and won't get away with just beating up on easy teams every week.

I think this team will take a step back also. I think the offense will struggle to be consistent again. The defense is on the right track. But having a top 10 or even top 5 defense is not the same as having a top 20 of all time type defense like in 2013. Those kinds of defenses are once in a lifetime. And I think a top 10 defense in any given year is not going to carry a team without a good offense.

I voted no on the playoffs.

I said my piece about the offense so I won't repeat it.

I disagree about the Division, though.

- The Niners basically had a virtual fire-sale so they'll be taking a step back this season

- The Cardinals will still be the Cardinals

- The only team to concern ourselves with are the LA Sheep and that won't be for much longer considering where Stafford is in his career.

Plus, the Hawks upcoming 2025-26 schedule isn't daunting whatsoever so I don't get the Doom-And-Gloom prognostication here.

I can see both sides of opinions on the team and how good they will be in 2025. I still think they'll go 10-7, but I always wouldn't be shocked if if they go 9-8. I just don't think with an improving defense like we have, along with what will be added in the draft, that that team is in for some massive regression. Shoot, they won 10 games being a crap o line, horrible OC, brand new coach and an average QB.

Nothing wrong with thinking they'll take a step back, and certainly nothing wrong with thinking they'll be improved. This 2025 season is going to be very interesting, so many questions. And if JS doesn't hit it out of the park, he could be gone, imo.

Soulfish, if they go 10-7 after all the acquisitions and (hopefully) wise draft choices, it would be a massive disappointment.

11 wins is, to me, going to be the floor this season (and I think Darnold will be instrumental in winning 1 or 2 more games we had no business winning so 12-5 or 13-4 is a possibility)

I guess I'm hopelessly optimistic but I recall Doom-and-Gloom when Vegas said the Vikings would win 6 games before last season when they knew Darnold would be the Starting QB so....

I wouldn't be disappointed with 10-7 at all. This is a team in transition. And I'm absolutely more on the positive side w/the Hawks. 11 wins seems like a reach, at least currently.
