A.

Cross and Walker were both top prospects in their respective positions in the draft. We got good talent in the other two spots as well. I mean, this doesn't mean 1 or 2 or all 4 couldn't end up 'busts' at the NFL level because it's all a gamble but from where we are now, with no 20/20 hindsight, these were all good choices.

And I was happy we didn't draft a QB. Do I think we've got our bonified QB1 right now? No, but I also think we have the potential to do better this season than last, honestly, just by having a QB who buys into our coach's philosophy. And I say this knowing this is shaping up to be a 'bridge' or 'rebuilding' year.

With the pieces we get this year, we're set up to have a better season in this rebuilding year than we did in our last season and, regardless of how well (or not) we do, we'll still be sitting pretty in the draft next year anyway.

I'm pretty darn content and actually looking forward to the season.

Never thought I would be happy to see a draft with 2 Tackles and a RB taken in first 3 rounds.

But this is a foundation setting draft.

Well many experts” are wondering why our tackles are more pass protection than run blocking.

I'm liking the low key business approach. No flash, just solid working pieces.

I think it's funny that the talking heads keep trying to give us a QB - either throught the draft or Baker.

I'm just now finding out who we got after Cross. Bad storms in this part of the country. Very bad, But it looks like we got solid picks at positions of need. That's all you can ask for. I was surprised they completely passed on QB when they basically had their pick but I can understand that. Getting our trenches fixed had to be a priority and it looks like they made great strides in that area. Walker is a stud. 4.38 flash man. If there is a question I think it is Mafe, but if they can work him at edge he should be solid.
The thing about passing on QB that worries me is if that means they figure to bring Mayfield in. If he comes and excels I'd love it, but I just don't see it panning out that way.
At any rate, I rate our 4 pick class so far as good as we've got for about a decade.

B+ I’m not as crazy about Boye Mafe, hopeful he can turn into a solid starter. Everyone else I’m pretty happy about.

No reaches. That alone bolsters their score a level or two!

Pete and John unite the board.
That is no surprise to me at all. I've had to sit here and bite my tongue while listening to some of the haters for months, even years. about how terrible and washed up they are. Now we can sit back and watch Pete perform his magic once again.

Holy crap, did we actually pick someone at #9, and a left tackle, no less?

Was it a reach?

Love this draft so far. If I could do anything differently I would have traded up a few picks to take Neal over Cross and again to take Hall over Walker. But then we'd have fewer picks so...

I absolutely love both Cross and Walker but not as much as I did Neal and Hall. No biggie.

I was shocked they did nothing to shock me and I'm grateful for that. I'm also grateful they resisted the urge to go QB.

I gave us a B+ before the Lucas pick. That pick brought us up to an A- in my book.

Go hawks! (or did Russ copyright that?).

Very happy with this 'boring' draft. A+

I don't think of our tackles as pass pro specialists as much as 'move' specialists. They're going to fit the outside zone run game really well.

I'm liking what we've done thus far, I'm reluctant to give them more then a B grade. I'll only change it higher until I've seen them on the grid Iron.

This is an A draft. The "experts" love to $hit on Seattle. Im not sure what the experts will give Dallass this year, but it seems like most years they get an A. Yet, they haven't sniffed a SB since VHS tapes were popular.

I'm not going to grade the draft yet because I want to see the whole thing. I am very happy with what they've done so far. You can see the freaking plan. That's to rebuild the trenches and eject some firepower to the run game. No, we will not be a power run game but we'll run the ball better.

1) You now have your bookend OTs.

2) You get a legit RB. I don't care about value at this point. Get TALENT! You got a hell of a RB.

3) You get one of the explosive edges in the draft in the 2nd freaking round. He doesn't even need to start right away. You tell him to rush early on and then get him used to the NFL game.

4) Day 1 was solid but day 2 was amazing.

I give it an A, also. Have to admit, I didn't know anything about Lucas. I went back and watched him and Cross at the combine. They both looked very smooth and fast.
