Time to discuss the single most important position on any football team. Geno will be gone as most 12s on dot net wanted him gone. QB pool for 2025 draft may be weak with no ready to start on day 1 prospects. So we have:

Sam Howell
He is clearly a fan favorite here in dot net.

Justin Field
Most on dot net are happy to trade for him.

Drew Lock
After his 4 TDs game, lonely eyes from dot net are looking longingly at Drew

All three provide youth, young enough to become the second coming of Darnold, Mayfield or Geno. All three will provide of "he just need more time" to 12s after a bad game.

Can you add JJ McCarthy to that list? With the assumption that the Vikes give a deal to Darnold. Or Darnold AND JJ to the list.

Toffee at this point I'm not sure if you're trolling or what but I haven't seen a sea of people claiming Howell is the answer but I think you know that.

You tell us, would you pay Geno 45-55 million next year? If not who is your choice?

This constant Geno supporter or GeNO thing I don't understand. Most people are fine with Geno for the right price. That should be everyone's answer even if we disagree on what that price is.

Please get off drew lock. He’s proven he is garbage (and I liked him while he was here) he is not an NFL starter. None of these 3 options are right now

JJ won’t be available. I know reports are the Vikings want to keep Darnold but if they do JJ will sit behind a la Jordan Love. O’Connell loves and I mean loves JJ and will not trade him. I hate doing guarantees but I guarantee that.

My point, yet again, is that ONE of those two (Darnold or JJ) will very likely be available. There's no harm in talking to the Vikes about one of them.
Very few players are untouchable to a trade. Just sayin

Rodgers will probably be released by the Jets. Minshew likely won't be in Las Vegas in 2025. The current Steelers starting QB will be a FA. Garoppolo will be on the market. The Browns might offer a team multiple picks if they agree to take Watson off their hands. Tannehill is still out there. Cousins could become available. The Saints might not want to pay Carr $30M. There's Dan Jones, Mac Jones, Winston, Flacco, Rudolph, Lock, and a few other back-ups that saw little playing time in 2024. It's very much 'eye of the beholder'. The Ringer had Smith as their #8 QB for the season. Sometimes you don't appreciate what you already have.

The post is silly. He left the obvious and most likely choice out because he thinks he is making some great point that most on this board already see and acknowledge.
Geno is our best option at this point. Depending on his off-season demands for a contract. If he wants a huge contract then it's time to move on. Regardless of how good the other options are. He isn't worth a huge contract and it would undermine the rest of the team.

How much are you willing to pay Darnold? He's a pending FA. He would only be a trade option if the Seahawks were willing to pay him more than the Vikings could tag him for. Darnold has no reason to sign a below market price contract just so the Vikings could trade him.

I don't know, more than Geno that's for sure. He's better and will have a better career.

He's had 1 good season and 6 bad seasons. Acquiring him probably means guaranteeing him $35M for at least 2 seasons. It would be a huge risk with little prospect of him outperforming such a contract.
