Of course nobody knows how the 2025 draft class will turn out until a few years from now but just for fun, what’s your draft grade?

Day 1: Zabel is BPA meets need. Great kid and I love a good farmer's mentality. A

Day 2: John and Mike spent an unprecedented amount of Day 2 capital on the set of guys least likely to see the field. How are folks going to feel if December comes and Arroyo is on IR, Milroe is on the field for three gadget plays and half an interception a game, and Emmanwori is a spot player because they haven't found his fit and/or he's a coachability issue? And we ate a mid-third to move UP for him. That's a LOT of gambling for a roster that had more holes than most people want to take an honest look at. D

Day 3: ...and TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF! Well, mostly. But this definitely might be John's best Day 3 since 2011. Perhaps most comforting, and most telling, is the multiple OL picks, signaling that John either agrees that our current stable isn't enough, is just determined to get the best through competition, has a very specific scheme being cooked up, or some combination thereof. Either way, he's proven he gets it. Meanwhile, Mills, Horton, and Martinez all have flat-out steal potential AND address underacknowledged needs. They're injury gambles, but that's what late round picks are for, and boy did they find some explosive and high-production guys to use them on. With none of Kenneth Walker, Boye Mafe, Jarran Reed, or DeMarcus Lawrence guaranteed to be here next year, these were solid choices revealing very specific scheme fits. I honestly envision four starters out of this group. A

Final grade: B+

Draft is a crapshoot. At least they answered a majority of Hawk fans prayers by taking a IOL in the first round although the kid we took was far from BPA. I like the safety we took in round 2 as he has similar measurables to Bam Bam. Even if we get 60% of Kam outta him that’s a win in my books.

They took some lineman, a couple TE’s, an Edge, and a lengthy receiver. Oh and a QB. Basically drafted every single one of their pressing needs minus maybe a CB. I’d say they addressed what they needed in the draft. Now let’s pray these kids work out and some can become viable starters.

I guess BPA is subjective? Need was a given.

Subjective for sure. The need was absolutely a given. I mean, I really like the pick to be honest. If management was in love with Zabel which sounds like they were than good on them for getting their guy.

MontanaHawk is spot on about day 3 I think though, this very well could be the best since 2011. I feel that way too.

The trade up in the second was brilliant. We had discussed this on .net. it was a dream scenario I didn't think had much traction. Then they went and did it. Impressed. The Milroe bombshell was innovative and deserved the A plus it earned. I had mentioned John likes his irony as that was GeNo compensation. Next years offense will be a great departure from what we have known. I was ready for that. Nick was my top guy. They got Zabel too. I was channeling safety. Offensive lineman and tight end. They did just that. Milroe is a rb and a qb for us. A monster athlete. I didn't really think we were gonna draft a qb. So the three qbs make sense as long as Milroe is utilized. Getting a pick for Sam was decent. didn't want a run on offensive lineman because we have some talent there. Later in the draft was a host of maneuvering. The dl from notre dame and Horton hears a who....I'm not really familiar with the day 3s. We will see. With all the salary cap moves John has reasserted himself. Bravo A plus

I'm cool with that and hey...if it works out, the upside is Gronk, Kam, and Taysom Hill. Can't sneeze at that. But that's three ifs. I just wanted to wait for them.

I think Day 2 was our strongest day.

Emmanwori - crazy good athlete who I assume will bump Coby Bryant out of the SS spot. Coby was competent, but I expect Emmanwori to be great. Grade A

Arroyo - Great move TE. Him and Colston Loveland are nearly identical, except Arroyo fell because he couldn't test. Grade A

Milroe - I don't think anyone on the Seahawks staff sees him as Sam Darnold's backup, that job is Drew Lock's. Milroe's job is going to be similar to Taysom Hill's in New Orleans where they carried 3 'quarterbacks', but nobody but Taysom was running their wildcat package. Milroe is a weapon and that's going to be his position on the field. Defensive teams are going to have to prepare for two offenses when they play us, that alone makes him much more valuable than a 'gadget'. Grade B

These guys are all going to play in year 1. Emmanwori should win the job from Bryant in training camp. Arroyo may not start, but will see the field plenty as we'll run more 12 personnel. And Milroe will have whole sub-packages put in for him.

As for day 3, a lot of cute picks. I think Ouzts is going to be too slow to lead block. I don't think Cabledue or Richman will ever see the field with all the young talent in front of them, and we have nothing behind Witherspoon, Woolen, and Jobe at CB.

I gave it a “C”. Day two was a calamity. A TE that can never stay healthy and a gadget QB that will have next to zero impact. Day 3 seems like a bunch of JAGS that will see little playing time if any. I like the Miami RB but where does he fit in an already crowded RB stable? Also, the CB depth was never addressed at all.

I know I’m getting crucified for my take as the board seems overwhelmingly favorable for this draft, but I just can’t see it. Maybe it’s PTSD from the days of Pete but when second day picks of injury plagued players and gadget type guys are getting taken, I look at it as reckless and unnecessary gambles. I know drafts are a crapshoot and I hope I’m very, very wrong in my opinion of this one.

My initial reaction draft grade is an A.

Added several players that are gong to be fits for the new look offensive scheme while still being able to stack some defensive talent.

Emmanwori and Mills figure to be receiving snaps in a rotation and certain packages to an already stacked defensive unit. Mac must be brainstorming how to move Emmanwori and Mills around for mismatches.

JS hit OL, TE, WR, FB, RB and QB which is all the position groups on offense. JS triple dipped into the OL while double dipping at WR to figure out some answers for both units. That is 100% classic Ron Wolf draft strategy and JS is definitely a disciple of his.

Zabel is the anchor player drafted on offense to really shore up the OL and the new scheme.

Richman and Cabeidue have upside in this scheme and are thrown into the mix with Laumea, Sundell, Haynes, Jerrell, and Jones. Of those players listed I think the Seahawks keep the best four or five and move on.

Arroyo adds an explosive element to the TE room but also the offense in general which is a good thing.

All signs point towards Outz being a FB or a short yardage inline/motion TE.

Martinez adds more explosion to a very good RB group already.

Horton and White the III are classic sized WR's that can operate in this scheme functionally and may show upside down the road.

And then Milroe will be part of the offense in short yardage/red zone opportunities. Along with developing behind the scenes as a QB.

The best part of this draft is we may be set up for a while. The only real holes I see are a true 0 technique D lineman, backup LB and another CB. A lot has to go right but next year I believe we can be in the same category as the Eagles and Ravens.

The reason those two are so good is they have no to minimal holes on the roster they never have to reach for players in the draft. They always take good players because they are set up to just take a top player that falls to them. We can be in the position next year to just take a top player that falls to us. I’ve said it before but 2026 our window opens right up. 2025 could be a lot of fun. Such a great weekend that was. So much optimism moving forward. Can’t wait for training camp, preseason and the regular season.
