I guess the days of the Rams signing top free agents are gone. Now they are picking up other teams' cast-offs to build their roster. After saying that he was fine with his teams' linebackers last week, Sean McVay picked a player off of waivers--Sterling Weatherford, who was waived by the Chicago Bears. Oh, how the mighty have fallen!

Every team brings in players waived by another team. Some of them even thrive under different/better coaching or a different scheme better suited to their skillset.

Sometimes teams have an abundance of talent at a position, they waive one of them and another team picks them up. Seahawks have made a practice of grabbing such players.

lol what even is this post?

Players are being released and signed constantly. There's value to be mined from kicking tires and seeing if there is something there. Sometimes there's nothing there, but sometimes you get Michael Robinson, Ricardo Lockett or DJ Reed.
