And add in, everything is fought with guns these days. I was reading a news article's comments the other day from yet another news story involving gun fights and I read so many things like, "Back in the 70's and 80's when I was growing up, the worst that would happen at a party is a fist fight. Now everything seems to need to be resolved with gun fire."

It's totally true. We have created a culture where kids look at guns like we used to look at fists.

We are raising sociopaths.
Again, you are going on feelings and not facts.

It is common for older generations to view new generations as worse.

It's really hard to believe gun murder has decreased, unless you are taking about the VERY RECENT past and overlooking the nearly daily mass shootings that have taken place. Stuff like that was practically unheard of for most of this century until the last decade or so.

Stats aside, I see what I see, every day in the news. No stat sheet you wish to reveal is going to change my thinking on what I've said, feeling-based or other.
I take my life experience, see what's changed, how people in general have changed, how they associate these days with others. Non of it is better, this isn't about when I was a kid memories, it's fact. How many of you let your kids play till dark outside unsupervised, how many send them out and not be watching them constantly versus having them call you when they get somewhere or check in every hr. How many monitor their phones, programs watched, how many take them to school and pick them up versus letting them walk or ride a bike.

These changes that have happened is due to the Moral, social, erosion of our society in general. That's just kids, take elderly getting jumped and robbed routinely now, people getting carjacked with kids in the car and taking off. Then you have domestic stuff where people are shooting and stabbing others over music, dogs peeing on lawns, or simply knowing someone they don't like.

But, but, but, but...STATS!

Ask the people of St. Louis if violent/gun related crimes are at a low, lol. Do the same for people in the Bay Area down in Cali, double lol.

There are whole cities that are third world $#!+ shows now in the US, with decades of work to do to get them to just being bad places to live (haha). These cities are DEAD right now, and these are just the few Major cities I can think of off the top of my head. Chicago, has been terrible for so long it's a joke at this point.

BTW, I'm a full supporter of the 2nd Amendment, not knocking guns/owners here. But things are damned terrible, it's sad really.

The stats are lies. I have seen firsthand how those stats are compiled. The stats get fudged at every level. They work their way from the bottom (patrol officers), all the way to the top (politicians).

So you’re basing it on media exposure. Which is exactly my point as in why we tend to think things are so much worse. You basically said screw facts, I’m going on feelings. You do you. Stick to confirmation bias. Come up with conspiracy nonsense. Whatever it takes. I’m out.

I think he is saying Stats be damned versus life in reality, media, stats can all me manipulated, people lying in the street bleeding, people on the sidewalks sleeping and dieing, more and more needing help in every day life tells you how we are trending. Drive around your city, don't need stats to see what is going on anymore.

Wake up and look around at the world we all see. You are blinded by stats that don’t tell the entire picture. I’m out too. Have a nice weekend.
