Looks like a great get. Great speed, hands, and he blocks well.

Another (sort of) legacy recruit.

Keep doing this and every 20 years the Huskies will be good.

The newest addition to that group is four-star Ferndale standout Geirean Hatchett, who announced his verbal commitment to UW on Friday.

“I think he’s probably one of the best run-blocking offensive linemen out west,” said 247Sports national recruiting editor Brandon Huffman. “He’s a top-10 guard nationally. He’s a guy we’ve been watching since his freshman year. He’s been a player that I think has really been able to improve as a pass-blocker, which really was important for him because he comes from a wing-T program.

Big time commit, virtually everybody wanted him, heavy interest from Oklahoma, Ohio State, Stanford, Alabama, and many others.

If we can finish off with a bunch of 4-stars this will be another excellent class.

The Huskies continued their recruiting momentum today when 3 star cornerback James Smith from St John Bosco HS, CA committed to UW over offers from Oregon, Michigan, UCLA, and ASU. He trimmed his list to just UW and Oregon a few weeks ago.

Wouldn't surprise me if he ends up being a 4-star by the time he gets to UDub, he hasn't had much playing time playing behind two 4-stars but has the size and speed to get offers from top schools. Has impressed at football camps this summer, a product of football powerhouse St. John Bosco High in Bellflower, CA.

In what has been a standout year on the offensive end of the recruiting trail, Washington football has landed yet another star receiver!
The Washington football coaching staff has to be very pleased with the offensive recruiting class they’ve pulled in to this point, especially after landing four-star wide receiver from Bishop Gorman (Nevada) Rome Odunze! Odunze is a big target, standing at close to 6’3, with measurables that are off the charts for a rising senior in high school, especially his 4.00 shuttle run.

Odunze is looking to build off a very strong junior season, where he caught 60 passes for 1,347 yards (for an average of 22.5 yards per catch) and 15 touchdowns. Odunze is currently rated 281st in the country by the 247 Sports Composite, but is almost over 100 spots higher by the 247 rankings, coming in at 174th. With another outstanding season like he had in 2018, Odunze could potentially be a prospect that rises into the top 100.

This is another good offensive get but you have to wonder when the defensive recruits are coming, CP usually likes to balance his classes.

Not going to second-guess him though, he's doing a great job of rebuilding the program.

The Huskies received some great news today when 4-star defensive back Jacobe Covington from Saguaro HS, AZ committed to UW over offers from LSU, Oklahoma, Michigan, and several other schools. Listed at 6’1” and around 195 pounds, Covington is rated by 247sports as the 13th best cornerback in the country. When you watch his film you see a playmaker all over the field and a player who will be able to come in and contribute right away. The Huskies continue to reload at defensive back and Covington looks to continue the DBU trend.

The Huskies continue to roll on the recruiting front with the commitment of 3 star defensive back Makell Esteen from Lawndale HS, CA. Esteen, who is listed at 6’1” and around 170 pounds is an aggressive defensive back that has a nose for finding the football. 247sports rates him as the 33rd beat safety and 403rd best player in the country. UW beat out the likes of Oregon, USC, and basically the entire PAC 12 for his services. Esteen is a big pickup and is the 3rd defensive back in the 2020 class.

UW now has 18 verbal commitments in the 2020 class.

As usual Kitsap you are right on top of it. I was wondering when the defensive recruits were coming and here they are. If Jimmy Lake thinks they're good you know they are.
