Failing on 4th and goal is probably almost as much of a momentum changer as a turnover.

I know everybody loves the "aggressive" angle, but what followed?

Miami Dolphins at 4:45
1-10-MIA 25 (4:45) (Shotgun) R.Fitzpatrick pass short left to M.Gaskin to MIA 34 for 9 yards (T.Flowers; K.Wright).

2-10-SEA 33 (1:15) (Shotgun) R.Fitzpatrick pass short left to D.Parker to SEA 27 for 6 yards (T.Flowers; Q.Diggs).
3-4-SEA 27 :)34) (Shotgun) R.Fitzpatrick pass incomplete deep right to J.Grant [B.Mayowa].
4-4-SEA 27 :)29) J.Sanders 45 yard field goal is GOOD, Center-B.Ferguson, Holder-M.Haack.
It could have been a game changer, in a bad way.

Dolphins started with the ball on 25 - would have been the same if we had scored the FG and kicked a touchback, it's not like we gave it away in our own half.

Anytime you can go up by 7 points on 4th down, you should. That means one screw-up like a pick-6 or fumble return doesn’t put you behind. I hated it for that reason.

The way this team is putting up points, every D is going to want them to kick it.

I'm a big fan of going for it. Sending a message that once we cross the 50 we're getting TDs. Sacks and penalties are the only thing that will keep us out.

This.

Up 10-6, well within field-goal range... I've never heard of any team going for it. Pete ball at it's best / worst.

They are the Dolphins you go for it. Its the 1st half, you can take more risk.

I think in the moment it was probably smarter to take the 3 even though I loved the call personally so I can understand why people see it that way. I think for me I'm just looking big picture and I like that the staff seems to be much more aggressive overall like we saw at the end of the half. So taking a step back I like that our tendency is to be aggressive if that makes sense.

Big picture, it was definitely a good sign. I just hope he doesn't get discouraged and revert back to Mr. Conservative.
