Great read and All-22 look at how the Seahawks disguised some of their coverages to confuse Jimmy G, this was very interesting as it shows how much of an impact Diggs had on his first start with the team-I had a feeling Diggs had a much bigger part in the d-line's dominance than what the game showed and for sure watching the All-22 confirms this.

Jimmy G had uncharacteristically poor pass protection (more a case of his Ts being rusty than the return of 2013 Bennett & Avril), and down his top two receiving targets. Tons of critical dropped passes.

Overblown nonsense in the media if he's worth it or not, dead money that can be saved by cutting him. Sickening.

Does this article get written if the 49ers win the game with that missed kick at the end?

Football is a game of 60 minutes, but the first 15 were completely dominated by SF.....101 yards to 6?

Had the Niners been able to pull away slowly, things look very different.

God job on Pete putting on a defensive clinic. He pulled out all the stops to beat the 49ers and barely got it done.

Now Kyle has more to work with.

As long as we're playing what if's: What if DK doesn't get stripped at the goal line and scores. All the other stuff after doesn't happen and other stuff does.

Funny hearing excuses like injured players and dropped passes. Seattle lost their #1 tight end and starting center for the year, down to their 4th string tight end in hollister. They lost their #1 receiver innthe 4th. Seattle dropped 3 or 4 picks and had one erased by a ticky tack hold. Had Wagner or Wright caught either pick that hit them in the hands, there's no overtime. Had Wilson received a facemask flag or been ruled down on the strip sack(like they ruled him down when he broke a tackle while moving forward for being in the grasp) then the niners don't score 7 when down 21 10. Had Wilson not underthrown his gamewinner in overtime for a pick, game over there.

Fact is, 49ers received sooooo many breaks in that game they were lucky to be in it. It's laughable hearing excuses and saying Seattle barely got one

Exactly. I get niner fans want to look at the excuses on why they lost. And everyone does. Just hope next game the hawks beat them down real bad where they can’t make excuses. They should have beaten them bad this game.

Let's not forget the fact that we spotted them 10 points to start. They have no excuses.

All the 49er fans are focusing in on an undrafted rookie kicker who had been cut twice missing that last kick, failing to remember that he went 3/3 before that with a long of 47. That kid was lights out to start the game.

And if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle.

Doesn't change the fact that Jimmy G has thrown about 8-10 INTs over the last few weeks, with the majority of them being dropped even though they were thrown directly to defenders. He threw 2 INTs in the red zone against AZ. Fumbled and threw a handful of picks under pressure from the Hawks.

You can lie to yourself all day long if you want. Kid doesn't have what it takes to win under pressure, and crumbles when it counts. The whole NFL has the tape now and knows exactly how to deal with him. Take away the run, bring pressure, and force Jimmy Crapollo to throw the rock.

Y'all are about to face some quality defenses and come right back to earth. Should be pretty funny watching your all star QB turn into the next Kap. Shall we see him take on a controversial political cause when it becomes obvious he has no future in the NFL?

He looked scared with the game on the line vs. the Hawks. Were it not for two dropped picks (KJ and Wags) that game is over in regulation.

8 teams this year claiming the same thing... weird.

I'll take a lot more of the "barely" winning. It matters not.

8-2
10 of the last 11 over Santa Clara

27-24

Do the 49ers even have a chance at that FG if Wilson throws the ball two inches higher for a game winning TD pass instead of INT in OT? What about if the Seahawks D make just one of those 3 catchable INT's late in the game?

So many what if's but the plebs are always caught up on missed FG's.

Yeah, the missed field goal thing is a weak argument. 60 minute game (more in this case)
At least 3 dropped picks, 2 of them at the end of regulation would have ended it. The one to KJ is one of the worst throws you'll ever see.

I came to a conclusion talking about Jimmy G on twitter, we want the niners to keep him and pay him handsomely.
As seahawks it's our civic duty to big him up and make it so the SF FO have to overpay for him and become reliant on him as they are paying him such a huge chunk of the salary cap. We should be begging for this guy to get Wilson money.

One of the whiners on this very forum tried to say hes only effectively a rookie, fair enough one could say, but if that true why is he getting 28m a year? Darnold and Mayfield etc aren't being paid that. Rookie production for all pro price.

Absolutely I want him to stay there. He reminds me of Goff big time. If you don't rush him and give him time, he can shred a D. But any pressure, and he folds big time.

The local narrative is that JimmyG made all the difference when really there were other adjustments as seen in the roster from last year: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/ ... roster.htm

With that team, I think Mullens would have done better than 4-12. He would have kept 9ers in the game for most of their schedule in the first season half. JimmyG's an upgrade, but so far he's not shown elite.
