Carroll hired JS . I'm not positive ; but Carroll might be the only HC to hire the GM in the NFL . Paul Allen allowed this for some reason . Only Belichick has more power . He is HC & GM . Carroll is virtually the same without the GM title . He has far too much power . IMO

Anyone know ?

Everything and everyone reports to PC including JS.

This is true... but its not like Pete throws down the gauntlet and makes all the decisions... they have a system worked out that works for them... There is no issues between PC and JS they work well together... if that was not the case JS would be in Green Bay or some other team...

How do you really know? just because JS stayed does not mean anything , maybe the job in GB would have been worse. The reality is we don't know.

I know because if there was an issue JS would not have signed a 5 year extension..

Challenge of rebuilding a Contender, oh he is also the highest paid GM, or was at signing, he was ready to walk, the money talked a little and he has his kid that I think has some disability issues he is vested in and a program here as well.

He had offers by a few teams. The area, the Money, his program, and working relationship with Pete kept him here.

Money trumps all and he got a very good deal to stay. If u pay someone enough they will put up with almost anything.

Pete. John does nothing without Pete asking him to. He's a great yes man and probably one of the better negotiators in any front office. Schneider cut his teeth scouting though so it's not like he's clueless about players.

JS is an Executive Vice President as well as General Manager, Pete Carroll is a Head Coach plus Executive Vice President of Football Operations

In the grand scheme of a business they are both pretty equal.

Pete hand picked Schneider and brought him on board a week after being hired.

The historic trades that do not seem to entirely compliment PC Seahawks football makes one think that PC doesn't exactly have all the say in JS' moves.

JS is one of the best GM's in the league he probably could go anywhere he wanted to... tell me one thing... what info do you have that says there is any problem between PC and JS?

You have nothing... absolutely nothing... because there is nothing besides your opinion... and that's fine its your opinion...

John Schneider cannot do anything without Pete Carroll signing off on it.

Pete can do whatever he wants, and its John's job to talk him off the ledge.

I see it as more of a collaborative effort...I don't see it as Pete taking control and jamming it down everybody's throat

what gives you the impression that Pete is completely controlling things? what is there to indicate that?

Pete's the CEO. He doesn't make every little decision, but you better believe he is in the loop on everything that is player-related. He took the job in 2010 with the stipulation that he would have total control of the program. That has not changed.

No he has complete control... but it should not be assumed that he uses that control in a negative way...I think they have a positive thing going in the system they use... but then that's just the way i understand it to be... there is nothing out there that says that JS and Pete don't get along...
