Cowherd finally gives Seattle props today saying we could beat anybody and then goes on to trash Pete saying he is the biggest hypocrit in football. He had to rehash the time Stanford kicked USC's ass and had the infamous midfield "whats your deal".At some point in time he is going to have to give Pete some credit.

Cowherd gets paid to be a loud mouth and attract listeners, not to be smart or fair.

I think it's ridiculous that people are giving them a hard time for "running up the score. I'm pretty sure we removed our starting QB after 1 drive in the 3rd QTR and that most of the other backups were playing by the end of the game (as many as could play). You've got to be able to execute your offense and get some reps for your backups.

Yup, at first I saw it as running up the score.

But, then I heard names like Sweezy, Kearse, Moore, etc. I actually like the approach of calling the same plays, but with only 3rd stringers. Its respectful and beneficial. Its a cool way of handling that.

And, Harbaugh went for 2 within final minute or so, I believe.

Yea, he's being overly dramatic on this one. His beef with Carroll actually is that he feels Pete isn't as detail oriented as he needs to be to be successful in the NFL, which is evidenced by all our penalties. He actually did state that he's starting to be successful, and he's doing a good job up here.

Cowherd actually is pretty smart. He's a hard listen since when he finds a point he likes, he repeats it 15 times to pound it home, and keeps repeating it. He's got a total mancrush on Russell Wilson, and has been pushing Wilson for the last few weeks. Well before the Bears game to be honest.

He's also pretty football smart, whether you like him or not. He doesn't use a lot of emotion in his picks, since he is a bit of an egomaniac, and really likes to be right. Thinking with emotion isn't a good formula to be right a lot. (He's an admitted Seattle homer, but will still bash them when bad..actually one of the things I like about him). Cowherd is something like 49-15 ATS on his Blazing 5 picks this year. This beats any anaylist, sports pundit, and better yet, it beats all the sportsbooks in Vegas, AND all the professional gamblers out there.

He was on AM radio in Vegas at one point I do believe. If you ever get a chance ( I guess "I heart" radio is a good way now) listen to Las Vegas based AM sports radio. IT's easily the best in the country.

Not sure where "finally giving props" comes from. He has been giving props for quite some time and agreed that Pete was right to start RW and not Flynn.

I like Cowherd - he says what his opinion is, he understands what grey area is and he is willing to change his opinion when he realizes he is wrong. Like he says if you treated your stocks like your opinions you would loose a lot of money if you were never willing to sell.....

He also believes that it is right to "give up on a team". His justification is if an owner is making the money, franchise is increasing in value and they don't invest in the team or run it right why should I continue to support them with my money......

What rubs many the wrong way is as example a few years ago he said Rodgers is not elite - very good but not elite. Then Rodgers won the superbowl and he put him up there. GB fans was saying oh Colin hates Rodgers..... no he just said he wasn't one of the 3-5 best qb's at the time and then that season he proved that he was.

Finally to quote Cowherd :) -- people today want affirmation not information

We can drive up the field and score when we wanted against the Bears.
If we really wanted to run up the score we'd have set an NFL record.

Question:
If we were to get in the same situation against San Francisco, would we pull the starters as well?

I listen to Colin all the time and dude just recently gave the Hawks any credit,he been jockin RW for a minute but for the most part gives no props to Seattle but will dick ride the Cowboys and Romo?Just burns me up that he is hard pressed to acknowledge this team.

That is the most true thing dude ever said, however i dont need affirmation just give credit where it is due.

What ? The guy rips Romo and the Cowboys all the time.

Fact is, he'll rip any team that sucks. He's been acknowleding this team for a good time. He's had the Seahawks in 3 of his last 5 Blazing 5 picks, and he's had them to win or cover the spread. We let him down in Miami, but covered the other 2 times.

He also said this morning he "ran up the score" more in relation to the whole "what's your deal?" thing.

Most analysts are backing up Pete in getting his back ups some playing time.

Cowherd has a point, a very small small point.

It's a stretch to say what Pete said after a college game is the same as what happened yesterday. IMO there's a BIG difference between good sportsmanship in college where you're dealing with kids, and the pros............you know, where grown ass men get paid to not get thumped 58-0 in a parity league like the NFL where there's not suppose to be a 58 point disparity in talent.

The Cardinals mailed it in by half time, imo.

The Seahawks should not be criticized for what happened thereafter.

Pete was mad when Harbaugh was going for 2 point conversions in a blowout.

Pete wasn't doing that yesterday.

He's not a hypocrite, then, by definition.

I am kind of figuring out Cowherd's deal (no pun intended). He likes to talk a lot about big market teams because they solicit the most viewership. Then he often likes to take a unpopular or an against the norm stance. He also likes to shun small market teams and media. He has some valid points about some things but what I don't like is when he tries to perpetually defend his position on something even though it was a dumb point to begin with. He's kind of a mixed bag for me.

Cowturd loves SC and Lane, maybe that's why he has a beef with Pete.

Cowherd was saying that Pete used to run up the score while at USC and was being hypocritical for criticizing Harbaugh after he ran up the score against his team. Cowherd wasn't saying that Pete ran up the score yesterday, though a lot of other people are. Tim Ryan in the broadcast booth was for a while, then they both started to say that Flynn and other backups need their reps in a real game. Ryan said Pete was putting players unnecessarily at risk. I think throwing to Rice over the middle like they did exposing him to a big time hit was unwise given the circumstances. I might have had Kearse run that route instead.
