He may be a washed up QB who threw a pick in the end zone, but at least he's not in Epstein's black book. Something positive to remember him by

Good coach?
I don't know. That narrative could change quickly.
Inflexible, old dude that yells at his QB?

If he continues losing, lose the locker room maybe, and now you're in Urban Meyer territory.
I think the lockeroom is probably ok with it. Russ showed signs of losing his teammates respect. His o-linemen often left him on the ground after sacks and would just walk away. And he'd already rubbed folks the wrong way last year.

Sean had that team on the verge of a playoff spot. The defense was balln out for a good bit. The offense was just not good.

When he gets his guy at qb, they'll be solid.

Here are RW's current career passing numbers and their all time rankings.

Passing yards. #18, 43,653 yds.
(Between #17 Bledsoe & #19 Flacco)

TD pass leaders. #13, 334 TD's
(Between #12 Tarkenton & #14 Elway)

Completions. #19, 3668.
(Between #18 Tarkenton & #20 D Carr)

I don't see RW3 as a HOFer. I see his statistical numbers more like he's lucky that Pete & the Seahawks stayed with him as long as they did.

Don't worry, everyone. The obviously Mark Rodgers-planted side of the story has now been released - to the shitty, silver-spoon son of the guy who took the Sonics from Seattle who writes for Bleacher Report.

Boy, I don't miss that guy at all.

It's a rough day for the QB rating and total TDs evaluation crowd. I get it. The league has changed dramatically over the last ten years, and the metrics we relied on have become somewhat useless in the modern NFL. The thing is, Russell's been one of the least efficient QBs in the league for three seasons. He's an elite situational QB who is bottom 25 everywhere else. He's 2020 Russell Westbrook. His counting stats make him look good. But no one seriously watching thinks he's one of the best QBs in the league.

Getting cut is probably the best-case scenario for him. He can still get paid and potentially sign for a QB-needy team at a significantly lower annual rate.

My Take aways -
"Hey Russ we think this QB that has gone 1-7 in his last 8 starts is a better option than you."
"Hey Russ without a Coach that absolutely coddles you in every way possible you play like crap"
"Hey Seahawks, at least WE have a Coach with the balls to bench the turd muffin."
Hey Broncos I am happy you got ripped off so hard.

Benching Wilson was more of a Walmart decision than Payton decision?

I don't care, I feel bad for Russ, he led us to our only SB win, we had a great 10 year run. Yeah, he couldn't pay for his ego, but still it's rather sad to see him fall like this.

Too many pages already, not sure if mentioned...

Unliiiimited...

Yeah, there is a limit.

2 seasons. A lot of money. A new coach that didn't pick you. Teammates that don't have your back.
Sad to see. Hope you find a team that gives you a great Part 3 of your career.

Poor Russ
Not so much arrogant, more like he wants to be respected, and liked.

I can understand why so many Seahawk fans are angry with RW, but honestly, it worked out perfectly for Seattle. He was one of Seattle's best draft picks, especially considering it was a third round pick. He gave the Hawk fans several years of exciting Pro Bowl caliber play at QB. He then forces himself out of Seattle when his trade value is still high enough that Seattle can get a huge return for him. Then he signs a big mega contract right before his play falls off a cliff. Had RW not forced his way out of Seattle the Hawks would not have received the return for trading him AND would probably be in the same position Denver is in. I think selecting RW in 2012 has turned out well for the Hawks.
