Here we list Tom Cables accomplishments

Did you guys watch Marshawn destroy defender after defender in a Raiders uniform yesterday? I have a feeling that dude made some coaches look good.

Russ + Bad weather not good

Yes, it's always been a myth that Wilson played a bunch of cold-weather games at Wisconsin. You can find the game temperatures here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Wisc ... tball_team In home games: 1. vs. UNLV: 90 degrees. 2. vs. Oregon State: 71 degrees. 3. vs. North Illinois...

Good Sheil article on Bevell and his play-calling goals

Seems like Kearse has gotten some decent yardage on screens, actually. It's all about blocking, execution and match-ups. A lot of teams throw screens to their lumbering TEs. It's not like every receiver screen in the NFL goes to a scatback or jitterbug receiver. That's actually far from the...

    Chip Kelly.

Yep, Chip won't leave or get fired. He has essentially three years of job security in the NFL. Jed is not going to spend the money to buy Chip out of his contract. He had to grit his teeth to do that for Tomsula. He let Harbaugh walk over a few million dollars. Unless Chip really wants to...

So what's the deal with the RZ offense?

The one area where a big QB has a real advantage is when the field is shortened. Russ has had his struggles in the redzone and will continue to do so. He will never have great vision in that area. His explosiveness everywhere else makes up for it, but this is a reality.

    Why is the Lateral dead?

Right, but that's why I called it a lateral "attempt." That's clearly what Bush intended to do, and it was a disaster of epic proportions. Also, all of the scenarios that OP outlined above are of the impromptu variety, i.e., off a defensive turnover or when a runner is bottled up. There are...

    Why is the Lateral dead?

Pete lost a national title on a lateral attempt by Reggie Bush that was fumbled. I doubt he's ever going to give anyone the greenlight to do that ever again. Huge risk of turning the ball over.

Christine Michael released, claimed by Packers

Minnesota has capable backs, they just don't have an OL to block for them. I don't think Michael helps them. Green Bay makes the most sense to me, but their front office is notoriously stubborn about acquiring free agents, even when it costs them nothing.

Christine Michael released, claimed by Packers

The Packers have to pick him up, right?

    2 Point Try

I liked it. Put the game away with a throw. The fact that Brady was the opposing QB here mattered. Hauschka has struggled mightily on kicks from 0-33 yards. Our defense has played a ton of snaps the last 3 weeks. Lot of context that's being ignored here.

How Does The NFL Fix The Reffing Problem?

I can't believe I'm saying this, but how about we just let them make mistakes every once in a while? It's inevitable in any human endeavor anyway. Refs miss fouls in the NBA and misjudge the strikezone in the MLB. If I had to point to one thing that's likely turning off casual fans, it's...

    Spencer Ware

I think you're thinking of Michael's early ball-security struggles. Ware never fumbled in preaseason or regular season with us.

    Spencer Ware

I believe the DUI came shortly after he was cut, so I doubt that was a factor. If you ask around the league, I think it'd be generally unanimous that Spencer Ware is currently considered a better talent than Christine Michael. Ware has morphed into one of the best dual-threat RBs in the NFL...

Norv Turner Resigns From Minnesota. Seattle Should Pay Attn.

Norv left voluntarily because they have no offensive tackles and no running game. With Peterson and both starting tackles out indefinitely, there's really no hope for that offense. Norv probably didn't want to be the irrational fall-guy for their fanbase, like another successful OC (in the...

Which offense is worse...Seahawks or Vikings?

True, the threat of read-option (and Wilson's own rushing numbers) hid deficiencies in our OL in the past. The question is, will his mobility return this season without an extended rehab period? Admittedly, there is at least a glimmer of hope, and I'm optimistic about Rawls as well...
