Great read on Seahawks Cover 3 scheme

Thanks for posting this, I'm the author of this piece (Matty)

Hawks interested in bring back Rubin

I think they have less known pure nose tackles. They'll stick a bunch of dudes at 5 tech.

    Jacob Martin has potential

Given Martin was rumored to be playing at 220lb at the end of the year, I really can't see him being more than a pass-rush specialist in Seattle's system. And that's fine! He's surprisingly technical and brings a speed element that is lacking amongst the other pass rushers, even if he lacks bend...

Hawks interested in bring back Rubin

You need to separate the defensive tackle position in to types. Jefferson and Naz Jones are more 3/5 technique types, lining up on the outside shoulder of the guard or as a big end. Rubin is more of a 1/3 technique type, a plug-and-play run defender who lines up at nose and sometimes on the...

Hawks interested in bring back Rubin

The lack of a decent 1 tech last year was huge. As long as there is no repeat of Shamar Stephen taking significant reps, I'm happy. Stephen was ABYSMAL and received significant reps.

    Pope cut

Burley was waived as injured, not straight-out cut. Might be headed to IR?

    DeAndre Elliott CB

I wrote about Elliot here: http://insidethepylon.com/film-study/fi ... ary-udfas/ I had him facing a massive task of making the 53. Here are the main positives "Elliott fits the Seahawks’ physical requirement for a cornerback, being long and rangey at 6’ 1”, with 32” arms – the arm length...

Breaking down Seattle's Double Stacks formation on offense

I actually like how the Steelers lined up against it. The defensive front would have made stopping the inside zone run a lot easier. (Video in the article) They also had a linebacker in an area which would have probably stopped a counter run. They just messed up in pass coverage. I'm pretty sure...

Breaking down Seattle's Double Stacks formation on offense

Definitely Wilson's legs scare teams in this formation. Note how they are always dropping a safety down as a QB spy in fear of the read option keeper.

Breaking down Seattle's Double Stacks formation on offense

Looks like Aikman needs to study more tape in preparation for games. Two passing touchdowns came from this last year, as did two incompletions. (As noted in the article)

Thanks man. All of your points are great. I think it was Meyer, it's really prevalent in the college game
