Figured I'd make a nice little compilation of the rankings for our defense this year to show just how damn good it's been:
Points Allowed: 2nd (18.1) The Lions lead the league at 17.2
Rushing YPG: 3rd (84.1) The Broncos (72.8 ) and the Lions (62.8 ) are ahead of us here.
Passing YPG: 1ST (190.4)
Total Defense: 1ST (274.5)
anyone that thinks there's a huge drop off between last year and this year are kidding themselves. BONUS here's the stats from 2012 and 2013, to show how consistently damn good this defense has been:
2013
Points Allowed: 1ST (14.4)
Rushing YPG: 7th (101.6)
Passing YPG: 1ST (172)
Total Defense: 1ST (273.6)
2012
Points Allowed: 1ST (15.3)
Rushing YPG: 10th (103.1)
Passing YPG: 6th (203.1)
Total Defense: 4th (306.2)
So this year, we're allowing a bit less than 4 more points a game, about 18 more passing yards and .9 more total yards compared to last year. We're destroying the run though, with 17.5 YPG fewer than last year.
My question to you guys, after 3 straight seasons of straight dominant defense, is the LOB starting to make the case for one of the best defenses of all time?
