I know the format here is kinda crappy but not in the mood to clean it up. Posting this so folks can compare his fine to other fines from this season. This is a list of every fine and suspension for the 2014 year. Interesting to note the NFL has made 25.5$ Million dollars this year from fines and suspensions (at least it goes into a charity for ex nfl players).

I see his second fine as getting a ticket for speeding a week after just getting a ticket for speeding. Beast I love your play, I love your personality, but come on it's part of the contracts/policies whatever, you got fined last year and they decided not to fine you assuming you'd be better with the media. You weren't better, so here's the fine. Sorry

Yet Suh won his appeal. Stupid.

Lynch is about the action, the league is about the cash - it is easy to see.

Goodell is corrupt as a politician - shocking.

Meh. At least the money goes to a good cause. You gotta pay your dues in more way than one to be privileged to play in the NFL.

The bigger issue is how the NFL goes about prioritizing the actions that cause the fines.
It certainly isn't in any semblance of order that passes for common sense.

I thought you guys had the 5th amendment.

NFL is not considered a state actor, so 5th Amendment does not apply, nor is their special 501c(6) tax exempt status and usage of numerous publicly financed facilities considered to be significant state involvement. NBA and MLB don't even get 501c(6) tax exempt status.

I was half joking. Just found it a bit ironic that the one of the founding principles of the country in which the NFL is based is the right not to say anything at all (admittedly to stop incriminating yourself) and how when someone decides they don't want to talk they get fined albeit through a 3rd party (the NFL).

Reporters who keep trying to interview him should be fined. Why would anyone ever want to interview him when you know he isn't going to have much to say? The man does his talking through his play. There are plenty of players who are more than happy to give you a good sound bite. Use your interview time on someone who will actually give you something.

Really? Reporters should stop doing their jobs because Lynch refuses to honor his contract and do part of his job. If Lynch didn't want to talk to the media he should have never signed an NFL contact agreeing to. Nobody forced him to do that.

Yep two guys doing a part of their jobs that under the contract they willingly signed agreed to do. And one guy that refused to honor a contract that he also willing signed gets fined. I don't see a problem here at all.

Today's news of the special investigator paid by the league finding that Ray Rice was suspended w/o the league viewing or allegedly knowingly having the elevator video raises the obvious inference of incompetence as regards that decision or was a well orchestrated cover up of deliberate dishonesty on the part of the league. Why this decision about Lynch is a surprise to anyone mystifies me.

This whole fine for not talking to the media is pure horse poop and ridiculous. Lynch has a dislike approaching a phobia about speaking publicly and mediots making him talk is stupidity to the point of bullying. I hope he challenges the fine in Court as being unreasonable or a penalty unrelated to the severity of the offence or as an unfair labour practice that is forced upon him in a situation where he should have been given a pass.

Meanwhile on the player safety front the big lie isn't fooling anyone, the league only wants to pretend they actually give a rip. The league wanted the matchup with Suh in the Detroit @ Dallas game so the Jerrah 'fix could get put in' as a game between Dallas and GB will get better ratings than a Carolina/GB contest. After looking at Suh's record for attacks on other other players and intentional dirty play he should have been suspended and fined, a fine of $70,000 in that situation was a joke.

The biggest player fine this season was given to player who was suffering back spasms and needed massage and medical help after the game because he didn't talk to the media, seems unfair to me. For Lynch to be fined in this situation notwithstanding his earlier warning to cooperate with media is to me patently unfair. This really points out how arbitrary and unreasonable the whole league imposed fine process is, and how much the players union needs to re-open the subject in CBA revision discussions. A player revolt will come when it is seen that the league is simply using the players and don't really have any cooperative fair process to allow for review and reconsideration or actually care genuinely about player safety.

Slowly this subject is beginning to alienate fair minded folks and is another of the numerous ways the league's pure greed is taking away from fair oversight of the game.

I expect significant referee intervention this upcoming game until the outcome is clearly decided notwithstanding best efforts to force a decision that creates a better story to sell. Things are starting to smell like wrestling. Goddess will eventually kill the golden goose.

So basically you are saying a guy is being bullied if he is expected to honor a contract he willing signed? Can you show up to your job and refuse to do parts of it you agreed to when hired? Most NFL fans stand behind principle and the league on this one. Lynch needs to step up and be a man of his word and honor his contract, and if he doesn't like the job he signed up for he has every right to quit.

Actually its mostly the media and some fans that have a issue with this. If you follow a lot of the various nfl forums including other team forums and the various NFL news related sites you would see this. To say otherwise is a joke. I have no issues if he chooses not to chat and I have no issues with the replies he has given the media in the last few weeks. Honestly most of the quotes for any players/coaches out there are boring as hell unless you enjoy the Richard Sherman/Micheal Bennett type (which I do).

To bad the media isnt held more accountable for what they write when it comes to the NFL. They want to complain about Lynch and his interviews but how all these articles with there "nfl sources" on stuff just to get clicks and visits to their site that many fans complain and are annoyed with. Its just an all around joke.

That would never happen for one reason only. There are to many egos in the league that have a need to hear themselves talk. For all intents and purposes his replies are not breaking the CBA regardless if the media disapproves or not. If it went league wide and the NFL wanted a change then I would assume they would have to give up something to get the NFLPA to sign off on this to modify the current CBA

What i'm saying is, maybe many don't want to talk (like Lynch) but they do it because it's a contract issue.

I don't like driving 60 mph on a long trip with no other cars on the road, if I get a ticket for doing 70 will you defend me?

I wish more would stick it to Goodell. The guy is a punk, but then again so is he NFAPA leader that bargained the last CBA without doing enough for the players but that is just my opinion.
