How about not assigning the punishment until AFTER the Owl? Let them worry about it for the next two weeks.

as far as Erin Rodgers doing it too......I guess BB was taught that two wrongs make a right?

You know what the Patriots should be in trouble for? how bout Gronk trying to lay his mack on the reporter lady who interviewed him for the pregame Sunday? I thought he was going to bump and grind her by the end of that interview. Extra creepy.

Perhaps he was trying to deflate his balls?

Didn't think a last second moment could top last year's NFCCG.

Didn't think a pre-SB storyline could top the Sherman rant.

This year is so full of awesome surprises.

How does this effect the Seahawks? The Pats are going to have the entire football nation pissed off at them for cheating again. They will be ridiculed for the rest of the time that Bilacheat is there! I would not be surprised should he lose his job!

Announce that fines/penalties will be announced after the superbowl. Drop the hammer a week or so later.

The NFL can't let this stand. 1+ year ban and loss of draft picks... in hindisght, they clearly would have won, but they flat out cheated in conference championship game.... unreal.

NFL has to crack down, just have too.
They will, but not in relation to the game.

My guess is in the end some equipment manager or ball boy will get blamed. There will be a fine. People will say Belicheat a lot. He won't give a shit.

Nah, Bill is going to get something too. Roger sets himself up with decisions like Lynch past Sunday. It's too easy to paint him as bias and a pet if he doesn't.

Probably not this game, I agree there. But, I personally think this is a distraction they won't get over anyways. Moot.

I'm not holding my breath, but anything short of lifetime bans, multiple lost draft picks and a 9-figure fine would be a slap on the wrist. They should feel lucky to not have wins vacated.

It's bothered him so much up till now.....

Another handslap (which I'm sure is all will happen) won't discourage him or anyone else from flouting the rules in the future. Like Pe said, something serious needs to be done. Banning him from the NFL would send a serious message... but we all know nothing serious will result from all this. Why not cheat then? Crime DOES pay I guess.

This will have zero impact on the Superbowl's outcome. They will obviously be watching for that now. However, just the controversy itself sucks. Takes away from the games' stature.

I'm offended at the Patriots stupidity. I mean, they could've hid the deflated balls in a casino elevator. No way would ol Rog or the league find them then.

Let's all take a moment to appreciate this post.

Hey guys, I wouldn't really worry about it. Roger Goodell and his crack team of investigators and advisers will clearly handle this properly like they always do.

Do you really think that the Commissioner has to balls to fire a shot heard around the world? "The Patriots will forfeit their win against the Colts and Mr. Belicheat will be banned for participating in any NFL event for one year"

Really? That's like the firing squad for shoplifting the third time. We already have precedence with the Saints, and that's already a pretty hefty price to pay as it is.

Okay, IMO I believe if this is true the NFL will act quickly and harshly. Remember this league has gone through a serious sh** storm this year with all the bad pub on player conduct. This is a coach and organization. Similar to Bounty gate a few years ago.

This is the one week each year the whole world is watching. They can't afford to look weak. They must get this right as perception is their main concern and the brand cannot be tarnished. What will happen I have no clue. But I expect something certainly before the game.

BTW the Seahawks had better sweep their facilty and the training facilty in AZ for cameras and recording devices ASAP.

I hope this doesn't detract from the game itself. I don't want them to have any dill-weed excuses after we beat their a**.

You know what, I'm not joking, I was thinking the same thing lol. I'm not normally "Tin Foil On Hat Rob Lowe" but we're talking about the Patriots here.

And we all know that "Patriots Way" is code for Hubris and Dishonesty.

Get the bug sweepers....
