These two tweets put things into a little more perspective. Irvin had a few good pressures, and likely would have had a sack had he not been held on one of the most blatant holding calls I've seen. He had a pretty decent game.

Interesting.

At full health I wonder if the Seahawks plan on using a Avril/Schofield combo in the first half, with Irvin exclusively at SLB.

Then in 2nd halves of games of which teams have to pass to catch up, you start dropping Irvin into the LEO position, put Malcolm Smith on the field at SLB and occasionally at WLB for Wright, and start subbing Marsh in for Bennett.

They also had Schofield lined up over center on the 3rd and 10 in the first series. He was spying Rodgers, until Avril and Bennett flushed Rodgers down, then he went for the sack.

Seems like they're trying to use Bruce in that spinner kinda role he had in college; put him in positions to make huge mismatches with his speed. Seemed to be working. I noticed him in the backfield a lot...
