Also, a brief but interesting article on why Clemons and Miller both may have not been released or renegotiated. Obviously speculation, but I'd never thought of the idea of holding a guy to restrict his time on the free agent market, then force a restructure. Frankly it seems like kinda lowball, but it's a business

I don't believe that is what is taking place. I think their retention to date is a statement of their value. Clemons and Miller are both more important to the team than what fantasy fans and statistical zombies believe. The media covers more and more about less and less and unfortunately many fans are 'drug' along.

Consider the Jimmy Graham hysteria on .net [urltargetblank]http://seahawks.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=90955[/urltargetblank]. Jimmy Graham fans focus solely on receiving statistics and highlights. Jimmy's fans are oblivious to run blocking, pass protection, special teams and leadership. There really is less and less media appreciation and thus less fan appreciation for complete players.

Chris Clemons is a complete warrior. Good against the run. Strings it out to the side line. Fierce backside pursuit. Good in trail. Well rounded contributions with an assortment of Quaterback hits, hurries, sacks, tips, forced fumbles and recoveries. A leader of men.

IMO Complete players are harder to replace than specialists. That's why teams hang on to them. There was no choice but to terminate the contracts of Big Red and Sidney Rice. The gap between compensation and actual contributions was far too large and contributions too limited to justify. It was, as the kids say, a no brainier.

Clemons and Miller are in a different class.
