Lock wasn't worth a $5M contract in March, and he still isn't. You don't give up a significant pick for half a season of a QB who isn't worth an above average back-up contract. If offered you take such a pick because if Smith isn't 'the man' then the guy who can't beat him out for the starting job isn't going to be either.

I'm sure we all hate injuries. The players work so damn hard to play. This is why depth is important. There aren't many Kurt Warner's riding the pine though.
