- Oh no, not at all. According to many on here, we had embarrassingly poor coaching last year. A head coach way past his prime, a very uncreative OC and a totally incompetent DC. Not sure about that hydration specialist either. Or the towel boy. Despite that, we ended with a winning record and barely missed the playoffs. So with all this new top flight coaching, we should be looking at 12-5 at least.

- Wait, or was it all the players suck? Or the players suck because the coaching sucks. Shoot, I don't remember.

- Sarcasm aside, I like the hires. At least I think I do, in the sense I like what the FO is trying to do. Now to see if it works. if he tears it down to the studs, then yes, we should give him a year or two to reload. But if we hit this year with the roster only mildly churned, we should see double digit wins.

I agree with the first 3 points. The talent alone was equal to the wins. No way our team should have got swept by the Rams, but for coaching, for example.

Pete WAS waay past his prime.

Shane went vanilla at incredibly inopportune times.

Hurtt. Yeah.

Players are going to get cut due to the cap space hell they are in and in turn, rookies or new face FA's will step in and replace talented players. It's going to be a process.

Macdonald gets an automatic 3 year pass from me. If progress isn't happening then it's time for yet another do over.

This is why I'm ok with a 4-7 win season, although with Geno, we'll be in that 8-10 window most likely. I think the only way out of purgatory is a majorly creative trade at some point in the future. Glad I'm not JS.

I'm basing my opinions on the assumption they are going to act on the QB position at least next season or even the upcoming season. That is the major hurdle in my opinion.

They gave Mac a 6 year deal, so it definitely feels like there is at least a 2-3 year window (for Schneider it’s eliminating that dead cap, and getting that salary cap functional to make splashes) of a transitioning period before the Spocks take any gloves off for expectations.

That’s my timeline for being critical that by year 3 or 4, Mac and JS either has this team competing or they get the deathgrip.
