Did selecting Frank Clark cost us a shot at La'el Collins?

If it did, what's the reason for the other 31 teams not drafting him?

Maybe a bad rumor at the worst time?

I think there is a low bar for Jerry Jones expectations when it comes to this, and their local media is more intimidated by the fan base than many other markets. Pete and John got torched almost immediately after drafting Clark, leaving them on the defensive and less likely to take a chance on Collins. Even teams that didn't take chances and had the fanbase/success equity to use a pick on Collins declined to

Would have looked great in a Hawks uniform especially using our 7th on him.

Ans: I really doubt the Clark pick had anything to do with the Hawks not getting him.

Nobody drafted him b/c he announced he would not report to any team that drafted him after the 2nd rd.

The Hawks at least tried to pick him up in FA but Dallas was his chosen location.

He'd have been a great addition to the OLine who'd likely be playing now as a starter.
