I've actually been pondering this question for many years, so, I will pose it here. Does anyone think that we cycled through the likes of Melvin/McClaren/Wakamatsu/Wedge/McClendon too soon (I'm excluding Hargrove, who actually became so demoralized that he quit midseason), or did they receive plenty of time to demonstrate a need to be replaced?

Still pissed Hargrove left mid season. I think they would have made the playoffs with him that year. Wakumatsu, McLaren were bad. Melvin was respectable, not sure if he actually wanted to stay though. Wedge hard to gage since the Ms had no offense or farm with him. Mcclendon probably would have stayed longer but the team he had was aging and they decided to start a rebuild with Dipoto/Servais.
