As previously quoted from a field goals article ...............

Interestingly, against the Rams the Hawks averaged just over 5 defensive backs on the field per play, but they achieved that by playing with fewer bodies on the defensive line than at linebacker. They averaged just 2.1 defensive lineman per play, compared to 3.9 linebackers on the field per snap.

The video below is a helpful follow up to the snaps observed above. It's a good review of the 2-4-5 scheme including necessary adjustments. It ties in with KJ Wrights remarks. It speaks to who excelled (Cody) and who struggled.

An excellent film review, in my opinion, for those who can afford the requisite viewing time.

Recommend that you fast forward past the first 13 minutes .......

Wow. Nice post. Explains a lot, especially why they've decided to stick to the defense rather than change it.

The failures they're experiencing are a matter of one player here or there making a mistake and good O coordinators forcing bad decisions on are part by players new to a scheme.

I'm anticipating the Panthers will present a different set of challenges. So this week should feature a contrasting game plan.

Although, the posted film review could be useful, once again, going into the final regular season game verses McVay.
