I can't find a replay, but it looked like he was trying to change direction to get away from Myles Jack. Couldn't count on Watt closing so quickly from behind, needed to gain a few more at point that Watt contacts him from behind didn't he?

Not the best scramble, but not egregiously bad. Not like he slid early or anything.
