The team has high expectations for itself, so we're in that boat together. But the team wins and loses as a unified organization and doesn't pander to knee-jerk reactions that some fans on the outside demand. Those are just foolish rantings and as Montana suggested, provide some emotional relief. But nothing of substance.

5-3 isn't real comforting knowing we just got through the easier part of the schedule.

If we make the playoffs and lose in the 1st or 2nd round again, do you think some changes need made or are you still content?

the defence is aging...contracts are ending that won't result in players being resigned..our drafting has been terrible for the most part. The time to win is now. If we lose Thursday imo its done.

We do not get to the super bowl without HFA.

Fallacious.

Remind me the last time the Hawks got to a SB on the road?

What Montana is saying is true, there have been MANY teams that have gotten to the SB without having HFA, and some have even WON it going as the #2 seed.
Would it be somewhat easier with HFA?, absolutely, but it's not necessarily a must happen.

What others say is true too. I don't think anyone is saying impossible, they are saying improbable.

You all actually agree, but view the meaning of chance differently.

I think saying our drafting has been terrible is unfair. Sure, we haven't been as good as we were in 2010-2012, but that's pretty close to impossible to replicate IMO. We have Britt, who is currently hurt but a good player; Richardson, who has really emerged this year; Lockett, who has been hurt but pretty dang good; Clark, who has been a monster; Reed, who has continued to develop and looks great this year; Carson, who was starting to lock down the RB spot but got hurt; Naz Jones, who has been a nice surprise; and Griffin, who has been serviceable to good. McDowell is the X factor who could be really good. Shoot, even Willson has been a pretty decent option. Pocic is a starter and has looked good in pass pro, except for yesterday.

The real busts have been Prosise (health), and there's still some shreds of hope surrounding him, Hill, Glowinski, the rest of the 2013 and 2014 drafts, Collins (who is doing great in Baltimore), and Ifedi, though there is some modicum of hope for him as well.

They just dropped a game to the Redskins at home. Need to fix whatever and not let it happen again. Redskins are not a playoff team. Each player and coach on the team need to look at themselves in the mirror and ask if they gave their 100% after this one. This team has zero discipline...Pete preaches individuality so he can't go back and then discipline them for being themselves. Stupid penalties and mental errors are becoming problematic.

5-3 may be good enough for most teams but its not for this team with who they have on their roster. That's majorly underachieving. We had a thread last week about the number of probowlers on the team. That's why the expectations are high and to see that shit show on Sunday is pathetic. Brown is the only one with any excuse and he was the best lineman on the team in one week. The rest of the 4 guys on the line (that includes Britt) were turnstiles again.

For me, the season has to pan out before making those determinations. We wait 6 months for football to roll around, so it's a bit premature to be thinking about the offseason already.

Did not mortgage the future if we resign Richardson and Brown, we are getting two first round picks in reality, Brown is better then anything we would draft, keeping a top LT draft pick on his second contract here would be iffy so win, Richardson is the tough one, he is going to get paid, can we do enough to pay him, he is the interior of the future on defense. We would not get one like him so again it's a win, if we resign him.

Disagree. 2 1st round picks will not cost you a combined $20+ million year 1. The picks landing starters help build a stronger team since the $$ saved over FA's can be used at weaker positions. That is how we dominated in 2013. Many starting rookie contracts.

Ok based on our extreme success rate paying O lineman to be on practice squad and nabbed by Cleveland or our D lineman starting out on IR you will have to tell me throwing that money and roster spot on some of the worst percentage players we have tried to draft in these positions versus starters that are proven contributors and will be at least for 4 to 5 years which is approximately a high round contract that will contribute now not two years down the road MAYBE.

With the current NFL system of lower record picks higher the draft because of this The worst record to have in the NFL is 7-9, 8-8, 9-7 just bad enough to miss the playoffs yet not bad enough to get a high draft pick. The 2017 Seahawks play much closer to that 9-7 mark then they do to the 13-3 mark.
