As much as it still sucks to be out, I think the extended offseason might do some good for everyone - players, coaches, and fans alike. I'm really excited to see how this organization responds to a disappointing season with WAY too many distractions. PC/JS have a tough road to navigate, but I think they'll come out smelling like roses.

I agree. I've been living in a lime green/navy blue drug induced world for the past three years. The Hawks have been a life long addiction but the past three years have been really heavy. It's like not only did my tolerance increase but the drugs became a better quality.

I'm welcoming the the off-season and Seahawks sobriety for awhile.

I will say the time between the Super Bowl and along about mid-April and even into May most years is the worst part of the year for me. Football is over and motorcycle riding season is really not happening yet.

Should be in the 60s tomorrow here in Colorado. Will try to squeeze a ride in. :D

I put 7000 miles on my Iron last year, started riding March 31st. Got a new bike, Road Glide Special so I'll be riding even more miles this year. Won't freeze my ass off like I did on the Iron.

Are any of you guys going to watch the playoffs this weekend or the Superbowl? I personally won't because I absolutely despise 3 out of the 4 teams left (Pats, Panthers, Cardinals) and wouldn't be able to stomach watching any of them win a ring. Best case scenario is that the Broncos win and Peyton retires on top.

I figure that I am going to start early on the daunted task now of re-furbishing my boat. It's been needed for a couple years now, so first of is ripping out all the matted down carpet from the years of wear and tear of wet feet going in and out. New plush cushiony carpet sounds pretty damn good this upcoming summer. As well as I am no longer satisfied with the loudness of the stereo anymore (have only had a single 12" subwoofer in a bandpass box located in the foot area of the captains seat, so i am going to add in and custom build an enclosure that will take up a majority of the rear back storage area - custom as in it will be boxed in, then fiberglassed in, housing (2) 15" Kicker SoloBaric subwoofers, ported enclosure but the ports will be blowing out the rear utilizing the rear air circulation vents. Rewiring in all the power/grounds, adding a 1200x1 Kicker amp, as well as everything else (additional power capacitors, larger alternator, and probably a 3rd deep cycle battery). Take off the foglights that were used on the tower and replace with a solid 40" LED light bar. that right there sounds like a good mid-February/March project. Then go get a new 600cfm edlebrock marine carb put in. I have learned from the past that it's better to get stuff/repairs done to a boat early, because on those first 80+ degree days, nothing worse than wishing you were out on the water enjoying it and not having it up and "ready to go"

after that prioject, i dunno, work on my car that has been neglected for the last couple years, motorcycle riding, work...

Nice. I won't put that many miles on mine this coming season but I hope to be able to take it somewhere this year.

Huskies basketball until March. Then the combine starts. Then the draft. Then OTAs. Mini camp. Summer fun. Training Camp. Pre season. Regular season. Post Season. Super Bowl. Do it all over again.

Well, I'll survive the same way I always have. I’ll tell you guys pretty much exactly what my life has looked like for years now.

Two things which have become ongoing staples of my life (regardless of whether it’s during the season or offseason) are:

1) Listening to Sports Radio (I listen to both KJR-950 and 710 ESPN). These days now that I’m teaching full time, I’m finding myself usually only having time to listen to podcasts.

2) Re-watching Seahawks game footage from this past year whenever I get the chance.

When this time of the years comes around, I go in to offseason mode.

Historically for me by late January or early February, I'm doing intensive research on potential free agents the Seahawks might target, monitoring the cap situation, and keeping an eye on what other teams are doing. As free agent signings start to actually happen, I’ll be spending lots of time researching players, looking at stats, watching highlights, trying to project in my mind how Player X is going to actually perform, etc. … and then trying to anticipate what Schneider’s next move might be.

And then posting my thoughts, comments, insights, gripes, etc. about all of that on Seahawks.net.

By early February, I’ll be increasingly starting to shift my focus toward the NFL Draft (which I’ve intensely followed every single year since about 1989). Back in those days, that meant going in stores, spending hours hanging out at magazine racks reading and taking down intense mental notes from periodicals such as USA today, Pro Football Weekly, Lindy’s, Street and Smiths, and so on. These days, not only am I occasionally still doing that … but I’m also spending an ungodly amount of hours researching on the internet as well – checking out combine results, reading up on prospects wherever I can, listening to and evaluating rumors, watching highlight and workout footage, etc.

And then posting my thoughts, comments, insights, gripes, etc. about all of that on Seahawks.net.

I’ll probably also be dinking around some, playing roto-GM on First Pick when that rolls around again.

When the NFL Draft actually rolls in April, I’ll obviously be following it pretty intensely. I’ll spend most of those days watching it, recording down picks as they happen, listening to analysis, and then doing even more intense research on those players. By the end of that week or so, I’ve usually got a pretty good Bio of that player and a decent idea of what they bring to the table. That usually propels me onward for several weeks.

And then posting my thoughts, comments, insights, gripes, etc. about all of that on Seahawks.net.

As Mini Camp starts to roll around again, I’ll again be intensely focused on what happens there, how the rookies looked, who really stood out, what does Carroll have to say, and so on.

And then posting my thoughts, comments, insights, gripes, etc. about all of that on Seahawks.net.

When training camp rolls around again – I do same exact thing. I’m pretty much trying to gain info and insights whenever and wherever I can …

And then posting my thoughts, comments, insights, gripes, etc. about all of that on Seahawks.net.

The Mariners (my 2nd Love) help to provide a nice healthy distraction as well, so baseball also gets me through. I do all of the above when it comes to baseball as well, but not nearly to the same level or degree. Here's to hoping that we can finally get back to playing baseball this October in Seattle.

I don’t know about you guys, but that’s the way I’ve rolled (and will continue to roll) for years now.

That is very depressing! I would rather watch paint dry than watch a game that is considered great when it ends 0-0!

Besides spending a few hours each day here, keeping an eye on you yayhoos so you don't choke each other to death, I'm going to focus on taking my business to another level.

Specifically, finishing a few long-term builds, that have been pushed aside for various reasons, reorganizing equipment and supplies, and just plain cleaning out nooks and crannies. Got numerous good take-off parts that need online listings, and we need to get a better sound system installed in this shop. Think of it as spring cleaning with efficiencies in mind, and making the actions matchup with the words.

There are a few personal fences I need to mend as well. All in good time.

Why oh why don't they just increase squad sizes and the length of the season? Super Bowl in April would be perfect.

This is the one flaw with your version of football IMO. I'll probably try and get back into our version of football but my team is too depressing to even watch at the moment.
