I think tonight I fully accepted in my heart that Russ carries this team to victories, despite Pete. He’s not flawless but he is elite.

This idea we took the ball out of Russ hand is crap and not based in facts.

What patterns did we run in 2nd half that we didn't run in the first half? When in the play clock were we snapping the ball in the 1st half vs the 2nd?John63":yn1lnbix said:WestcoastSteve":yn1lnbix said:We had 17 pass plays and only 7 runs in the first-half.

It is not just about taking the ball out, it is about the plays called and tempo. Lining up for 2rd and ling and sending everyone 20 yards is not a good play call. Not providing a check down is also not good.
We had 8 runs in the first half including a 3 straight run 3 and out.
Some dont understand it is not just about attempts it is about the plays and tempo. For example 2and half the tempo they played at changed, the patterns changed.
Another example you have peyton manning, but all you call is roll outs but you do it 20 times. Well gi en manning sucks at roll outs you wasted the plays and basically took him out of the game. That's what we did and do in the first half. We allow the defense to get set. Give little time pre snap to adjust due to always getting the plays in late. But in the 2nd half when we get behind we change the tempo, we change the play calls. We run a system this team and our QB is best at.
We are saying use the system we used in the 2and half. That we use at the end of every game, the system which always moves the ball.

We had so many key injuries & had very respectable record & so close to beating a very healthy Packers team on the road.
Pete is fine, we just didn't have enough depth. Imagine we had Carson & Penny. Imagine Disley instead of Hollister. Imagine we had Josh Gordon instead of Turner. How about Britt instead of Hunt.
We win if the guys caught the ball or stop them on 3rd down. Its not pretty but we win way more than we lose.

Exactly -- it's nonsense. The gameplan was to attack the Packers in the air the difference is in the second-half their pass rush slowed down and Russ got deadly accurate.
We didn't change our system in the second-half - it's a cute narrative but the playcalling says otherwise.

You think a coaching change would do that? Only Belicheat has more wins than Pete since Wilson arrived. Seahawks had the most playoff wins since Pete started for the Seahawks behind the Patriots. I think Pete is winning enough.
