I don't know what he said in that article that isn't correct?
I preface my comment from the perspective that I rarely read an article knowing who the author may be beforehand if possible. I don't want any preconceived notions or personal bias affecting my evaluation of the material before I have consumed it.
That being said, I have come to the realization that Florio is generally a Patriots blogger that occasionally writes uninspiring pieces about teams he deems to have a neutral relationship with, and mostly snarky articles about teams he has some animus towards. His reasons are his own and I say this having no idea who his personally professed team is or where he comes from etc...
Recently, he was basically falling on the sword upwards of three times a day screaming about the injustice of the Deflategate controversy and the railroading Brady was getting. Nevermind how one may feel about this particular contoversy, his pandering to one side of the story eliminated him from contention as an actual neutral journalist.
He is very subtle about it (I think his Lawyer-ey background shows through in this). Take for example his reporting of:
The batted ball controvery and this quote from him:
"Amazingly, the non-replacement officials missed the call, a little more than three years after replacement officials missed an offensive pass interference foul that allowed the Seahawks to steal a late win over the Packers on a Monday night".
He doesnt' talk about the judgement call of catch/interception.
He mentions that a clear foul (but still a judgement call), one that in most all previous discussions has been determined is never called in that situation (replacement officials or not) allowed us to "STEAL" (a very carefully selected word I assure you). This has no bearing on todays situation, but he needs to make it clear that the Seahawks repeatedly benefit from poor calls using action words like STEAL conjuring subtle imagery of some sort of malicious intent.
From today:
"Maybe he can rush the passer, too. Cover receivers. Kick extra points. If being a “teammate” in the eyes of Darren Woodson requires embracing everything about football, maybe Graham also should play some quarterback. (
At least he’d be able to see over the team’s makeshift offensive line.)"
He was on a roll here with hyperbole but that wasn't enough, he had to use parenthesis to take a shot at Wilson who has absolutely zero bearing on Graham's ability to block?
TLDR... Blogger...not a reporter...not a Journalist. Go into it understanding that and it will irritate you less.
