Lack of 12's Impact during the Superbowl

I'm wondering if Ch. 5 muted out some of the fan noise during the airing. Steve Raible reported that the Hawks fans were LOUD from where he was broadcasting.

The wife and I were wondering the same thing. When the Pats enterered the field it was rather quite, like an away game would be, and as the Seahawks were about to enter, I turned to her and said "now listen to how loud it gets, the place is going to rock." I was shocked that It was about the same level of noise as the Pats had.

This was pretty much the story throughout the game. I suspect NBC of employing a little political correctness and muted the crowd noise. Good Lord, if you watched the NBC pre-game show, we know how in-your-face political correct they got. I had to switch channels back to the NFL network several times.
