Many Las Vegans are excited about the Raiders coming into town. I'm hoping that we get a Superbowl here once every 5 years or so. There's not too many places in the US that will have nicer weather in February than Vegas.

As far as football, Vegas is such a transient town it'll be interesting to see who actually is at these NFL games. My guess is it'll be even worse than places like Arizona where it's usually a 80/20 or 70/30 mix of hometown and visiting team crowd.

I think they can hit those numbers IF the SoCal fans show up like I would expect and the local bandwagoner's do what they do. Vegas loves a winner so that will play into it with the bandwagoner's. We'll see.

I agree, but don't you think the Vegas season ticket holders will be primarily made up of casino and businesses catering to their whales and big clients with free tickets?

I have a feeling Raider games will be like Superbowls, a subdued crowd primarily made up of business people in town and high rollers who got comp tickets cause their team's in town. Gonna be hard to have a good home field advantage in a town like Vegas me thinks.

I agree. I think the Vegas Raiders will have the worst HFA in the NFL. Bowlcut Davis won't care though.

I wouldn't say "primarily" but you make a solid point on the subject. There just aren't as many whales out there as you might think and MGM / Caesars hold on to their money pretty tightly these days. I would be surprised if those two empires don't have million plus boxes.

There is tons of room on Sunset near the airport...of course they may have to move the airport because of the noise..and tons of room on Rainbow Ave...again moving the airport because of noise.

And there is one on boulder hwy.....I know that one intimately....as my aunt used to live there...RIP.

Well see a few years and the whole Raider fan base can move to Vegas and they will have a god home field advantage again, Raiders and Davis have this all worked out :)

Plus with the Bordellos being legal a steady income for many families to buy season tickets and lots of door man positions as well.

Mark Davis will see this is a business opportunity and open one called The Black Hole.

Jerry Jones will jump in before he corners the market and open the Glory Hole.

The NFL will see this is contributing to the community bringing in jobs.

What will be interesting to see once they are in Vegas is if there is an uptick in players getting into a little trouble.

Raiders purchase land for new Las Vegas stadium

PUBLISHED: May 1, 2017 at 1:50 pm | UPDATED: May 1, 2017 at 2:11 pm

The Raiders officially purchased land in Las Vegas on Monday that will eventually house their $1.9 billion stadium.

Clark County (Nev.) Commissioner Steve Sisolak announced the Raiders and the NFL closed escrow on the proposed 62-acre stadium site, where the team will play beginning in 2020. According to state records, the Raiders bought the land for $77.5 million, which turns out to be a bargain for Mark Davis. The Las Vegas Sun reported the original asking price for the land was $100 million.

The Raiders’ land, which has been the team’s preferred site all along, is located just west of I-15, near Polaris Avenue and Russell Road, just west of Mandalay Bay.
