They really had a lot of analysts and correspondents. So maybe it was too many. Also there is a lot more competition now for ESPN. Others are establishing their own sports networks. It's not like 20, 25, 30 years ago when it was all ESPN and nobody else. Plus I heard they pay their top correspondents millions and millions. So maybe they can't afford the other more moderately priced staff of which there are so many more. You could argue about whether this is right or wrong. But whether you like it or not it is what they are currently doing.
