So, if Dickson doesn't have a nickname yet, what should it be?

Show us your ideas.

He doesn't get one given he has to earn one good or bad.

Dickson averaged 53.6 yards in Preseason Game 3 on five punts, including one that bounced out of bounds at the three-yard line and one that bounced out at the one-yard line.

They were commenting last night, that he actually has several different punts that he uses depending on situation.

Not unlike a BB pitcher.

I’d assume that all punters have a couple or three but 6-7, I find that crazy cool.

I’m also excited to watch him progress, I just hope he doesn’t get too many opportunities.

YMMV

That was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen in football, and he essentially did it in two consecutive punts.

If Dickson were a poor tackler, we probably wouldn't care because of the above, but he excels there too -- not every punter can lay a solid tackle on a returner like he did later in the game, especially a rookie punter.

Considering how awful ST was last year I'll take it, I'm curious tho with these booming punts how far do you think he can make a FG?

I'm sure he can dropkick 50 yards but why? Sebastian is more proven at that range and place kicking is far more accurate than dropkicking anyway.

Watching him warm up and practice at TC was the most entertaining thing I can remember seeing there in recent years. At first it was just odd. Then to watch for a while it changed from being odd and entertaining to being really impressive. We were able to go 2 days in a row this year. By the time we left on the second day I was grabbing people next to me pointing at him and saying, "watch this...". It's really hard to imagine unless you see him kick about 30 in a row. He's not 100% consistent, but maybe 8 out of 10 will land in the same spot and bounce in the same direction. Then he'll change and 8 of the next 10 will bounce in a different direction. ... that's after about 20-25 minutes of ballerina stretching and weird pacing and lunges up and down the field and kicking while standing on one foot .... He comes out to start about 30 minutes before anyone else and is the only one on the field besides the trainers and field crew playing catch.

We drafted the next Ray Guy-Dickson's just as talented, maybe even better. And I'm exceptionally intrigued by what fake plays they'll come up with him. He's our holder too.

Ray.

He’s potentially going to be the second punter in the Hall if he can stay healthy and play for about ten years.

It's funny someone says Ray Guy and then they talk about Dickson's tackling, Ray lobbied his whole career to Al to let him work at Safety, where he played also in High School, Al kept saying someday maybe, he would tackle on Special teams as well.

Guy changed Special teams and the punt team forever and tilted the field in a way nobody knew could be done and they had to adjust for him, his hang time and placement was unheard of at the time, from what we are seeing Dickson is like as someone said the Pitcher or closer in baseball that can beat you with a 110 mile fastball or throw a Knuckle ball or slider that drops off the map at will.

Dickson can also tackle.

He should win Punter of the week for the 3rd week of preseason too.
