In place of Browner, opposite Sherman, if you can.

Consider scheme fit, cost, and playing style.

I'm hard pressed to do so myself.

IMO, taking into account cost, there are essentially none currently. If money were no object, that's a different story.

Current or past CB's? If current I can only think of two....Tillman and a healthy Revis if past I think Zebulon's list suffices especially if you remove Brown and go with Ronnie Lott. There are others like the Raiders CB's of the 70's that wouldn't be wrong either.

He definitely said current. But there are none so I had to improvise. Still not sure I'd take anybody over who we have now at this point though. Deion might be the only for sure.

5 Kelly Jennings's sitting on each others' shoulders inside an over-sized trench coat?

I wouldn't take any, BB is the man.

A short list of guys I wouldn't mind seeing out there if I was forced to do something about it.

-Sean Smith

-Brandon Flowers

-Charles Tillman

-Joe Haden

Johnathan Jospeh

None of these guys is really that much of an upgrade over BB, but I wouldn't complain if they suited up on Sundays.

If Thurmond remains healthy I wouldn't I am in complete agreement even though a healthy Revis is the best Browner is a tone setter and far better cover corner than given credit for and fits our system far better this not counting Revis' s me first disruptive to team chemistry antics.

Lester Hayes and Mike Haynes were the Raider CBs IIRC.
Lester said of Largent "It was like covering smoke."

...and ya know what? Stevie always beat `em. They were very good corners.

Given the role he plays on our team, very few. He is one of those guys that is way more valuable because of the role he plays than he would be anywhere else. If we were, say, I dunno, the Raiders, I might be able to rattle off 10-15. Because we have the free safety with the best range in the NFL and we have an identity of being a mauling defense, which Browner becomes a key to, you're going to be extremely hard pressed to find many. I LOVE Brandon Browner and the way he plays. That dude is the most physical corner in the league and watching him throw receivers around gives me a hardon. Don't take this the wrong way, because I completely love what he brings to us, but there are still a decent handful of pure shutdown type corners I would have to prefer.

Revis
Peterson
Bailey
Haden
Cromartie
Jennings
Tillman
Flowers
Joseph

Revis

I don't think I could make it to ten, at least not for our scheme. If Thurmond stays healthy, he'd be on that list somewhere.

The youngest guy on this list is 36. The rest are ancient.

You are disqualified, sir.

Pretty sure I said current QBs and said money was a consideration.

Well if we're talking current QBs, Tarvaris is suddenly available. ;) He'd be hella cheap and everyone talks about how tough he is. :D

Sean Smith, Antonio Cromartie, Vontae Davis, Darrelle Revis, Brandon Flowers are the five I think I'd be okay with. Of course, none could replace the attitude and swagger of Browner and Sherman, which I think really adds to their abilities.
