The Cincinnati Bengals.

This team looks to be exactly how Seattle needs to rebuild.

Good run game, check.

Elite receivers, check. Chase is elite already.

Most importantly, Burrow is quickly transcending.

Seattle should follow this model.

If Carroll or Wilson finish their remaining contracts, Seattle can give themselves an opportunity should they secure a number one pick in several years and get their next franchise QB.

Until then, build the defensive line and offensive line with what ever drafts picks you have, until you can secure a number one pick (might also be a pipe dream) and then finish it off with the next superstar franchise quarterback.

Problem solved (this was meant be a joke).

Sounds good, though, right….!?

I like the thought of building the trenches.

Just thought I bring this to note.

Let’s go Bengals and Joe Burrow!

Beat the Rams!

Yes, all we have to do is have the worst, or bottom 10 Win/Loss record in the NFL for several years! Easy Peasy!

That way we get the #1 overall pick, like Jared Goff, and we can find a highly ranked WR because we're picking in the Top 10 several years in a row.

Then, we can be just like SF, losing record, and the past Rams, losing recoord, and draft players like Aaron Donald, Nick Bosa, Arik Armsteadl, etc etc! Super easy! All we have to do is tank for 5 years in a row! :snack:

I'm happy for the Bengals, their fans have suffered more than just about any fanbase in pro sports history.

But no thanks. I'd rather not suck for 40 years, waste a bajillion 1st round draft picks, lead the league in felony convictions and have one of the cheapest owners in sports never spend any money on free agents.

Good for the Bengals for hiring a great young coach and striking lightning in a bottle drafting Burrows. But other than that, I don't really see a model to follow.

The Bengals gave up 9 sacks and scored 1 TD to upset the Titans. They got a pick 13 seconds into overtime against the Chiefs.

Not a lot of things that can be duplicated with them. Much like those 9-7 Giants teams that won the Super Bowl, they got the right matchups at the right time.

I wonder if Dunlap has any remorse about demanding a trade to get outta Cincinnati?

We have an elite QB, elite WR's. Build the trenches. It's been neglected for years. Rotation of QB eating DL and top 10 OL. They've had chances past few offseason to and rather then spending money on SOLID starters, they chose a grab bag of rotational guys.

The Bengals have terrible trenches.

Instead of building the trenches in the draft, they went for a field-tilter - a WR.

But this league rewards offense, specifically passing offense. Sure Mixon is pretty good but their rushing game #s are pedestrian, their OL is probably barely average.

They got a difference-maker and they exploited it.

Nobody should be particularly envious of the Bengals. They've had an enormous amount of draft capital recently due to being miserable. We shouldn't tank for a few seasons in order to get some top 5 picks and replicate their results.

Except the Bengals just had one of the top WRs in the NFL for nearly a decade without seeing the playoffs once. In the NFL every team has at least a few good to great players and this bit about "field tilting" and not worrying about how much they are paid is straight nonsense.

The advantage that the Bengals are seeing with Chase this year is that they are heavily underpaying him. Add to that them underpaying Burrow by $20m and it's a lot easier for them to put together a complete and deep team than competitors who are fairly paying a franchise QB and franchise WR.

That is absolutely false.

After drafting AJ Green in 2011 the Bengals went to the playoffs 5 straight years and won their division twice.

Both teams also have QBs who play on schedule and don’t play hero ball.

Both teams have better talent and better coaching so their QBs dont have to.

You sure? A lot of people love to bitch about our oline but Joe Burrow made it without a line practically.

You're correct of course; I meant without seeing a playoff win. This season has been notable in Cincinnati because it's the first time the Bengals have won in the playoffs since 1990.

A few breaks here or there and the Bengals finish 4th in their division. Burrow might not last long in that offense.
