NFL map showing the hate by region....

Just looking at the continents it looks like there is a lot of hate for the Patriots in places where there is a lot of anti-American (and pro-socialist) sentiment. Also worth noting if anybody is single and planning on travelling in Europe, tell women that you're basically a cowboy. For some reason Europeans are fascinated with our "wild west" history. Greatest month ever. College was awesome.

Come on, dude. Don't pretend there wasn't intended meaning in what you said to try and "explain away" the graph.

Here, I'll lay out your thought process even if you won't admit to it:

1) 49ers fans that were around to watch the 49ers in the 80s and 90s know what a real rival is like, i.e. the Cowboys

2) Since the Seahawks are showing as the most hated rival, it must be predominantly young people voting since the Seahawks are clearly not a major rival of ours and never will be even if they knock us out of 15 consecutive NFCCGs

3) As a 49ers fan, it's impossible for the Seahawks to ever matter to us much

Of course I was explaining the difference between the graph and what you hear a number of Niner fans say. LOL.

As you guys are so eager to point out, the last Niner SB trophy is 20 years old now. They don't remember past playoff losses.

As for your #3 there, its not impossible in the slightest. another ejection from the playoffs or 2 from the Seahawks and they'll be right there. Seahawks are clearly the number 1 CURRENT Niner rival...which is why that map says what it says. If I didn't view the Seahawks as the biggest rival right now I wouldn't be here. LOL.

All I'm sayin' is that peeps aren't lying when they say they view the Packers, Giants, or Cowboys as bigger historical rivals...in particular for peeps who remember those games.

But the irony is that while they brag about their really important rivalry with the Cowboys and claim to not even take notice of a rivalry with the Seahawks, if they were to ask Cowboy fans whom they consider their really important rivals, how many would say the niners? Almost none. Cowboy fans regard the other NFC East teams as their main rivals, they couldn't care less about some old rivalry with the niners based on what went on in the 80's and 90's.

So, if it's some cutting insult to Seahawks fans that Seahawks regard the niners a a big rival, but niners fans regard Cowboys as their main rival, then it must also be an insult to niner fans that while they consider Cowboys to be their main rival, Cowboys fans consider the Skins, Eagles, and Giants to be their main rivals, not the niners.

This is absolutely true,

I work with a Cowboys fan and when the map came out I asked him who he considered the Cowboys rivals because I wanted to see if the map was correct and it was. He first said Giants but said the rivalry right now is with the Eagles. No mention of the Niners. He is 50 so he has been around through all of it.

I'd bet money if you went onto a Cowboys fan site and posed the same question you would get a very similar answer. It really is funny how the Niners are in complete denial about seemingly everything. It must really suck to be in our division.

Go to the webzone and just look at the topics and the thread counts. There is zero about the cowboys, Giants or any other team they claim to be big rivals. There is however tons and tons of post's on multiple threads about the Seahawks and nearly all of it is about the hate for the Seahawks.

Another thing that I get a chuckle out of is how they treat Seahawks fans on their boards. There are guys over there just like rlkats and box are here but they get pretty much zero respect. The one thing I have not seen over there is a human excuse machine for the Seahawks like Marvin is here.

Sorry Marvin, you have dramatically improved your game but you still have your moments and will possibly never grow beyond them. ou really should have your own moniker. like 40excusiNiner or something with a 9er bat signal as your avatar.

As a Cardinals fan I hate the Stealers more than any other team. I think Arizona is accurate, most of us can't get over the Superbowl 2008 loss. And no cheerleaders!

Also can't stand the Cowboys. America's team... yeah right. I have nothing against their cheerleaders though.

Have to say I like the Raiders. They've been good to us the last couple of offseasons. Palmer for a seventh round pick. And letting Veldheer go so that we could snap him up.
