They should've known a popular local publication would blast out his address to the public on a silver platter? What world are you from?

He needs a cranky, quick-witted old dude with a beard, a rocking chair, a nice quilt, and a double-barrelled shotgun to sit on his porch and ward off people loitering around by using a combination of funny-yet-malicious threats and waving around the gun.

Hmmm, I wonder if Radish is in the market for a job?

No...you are wrong...the people showing up at his private residence THEY should know better. Why don't you put the blame SOLELY where it belongs...on the IDIOTS who would actually go there and do this? Sherman should have the expectation of privacy at his home no matter who knows the address.

The OP here is completely correct....true 12's should never do such a thing and any that think that it's ok aren't true fans, they seriously need to take a lesson in privacy and boundaries.

Sounds to me like a gate and fence will be of value here.

You sound like the kind of person that would stand in front of Sherman's house hoping for an autograph.

Perhaps we should post the full names and addresses of those at the Seattle Times responsible. Theirs are just as public as Sherman's, and I hear porno mags are always looking for more addresses to send subscriptions to...

Plus One :stirthepot:

I never understood the desire to get autographs, but maybe I'm just a weird Alaskan. But what are you going to do with them? "Look! I got Richard Sherman's autograph!"

They are so easy to fake. And if you want a picture, just photoshop yourself in with Sherm.

Show the people some respect and let them live what little time they get to themselves in peace.

Oh yea, I will be boycotting said sites that posted the home address.

This.

To truly understand an issue, you need to walk a couple hundred miles in their Nike's.

'Tis sad that our society feels the need to find and relate to the celebrity. It starts with the Hounds of the Autograph, then come the evil sick bastiges with cameras.
Get you some security folk, Sherm. Such is the price.

Hey Smugly I'm not growing a beard for anyone, not even the Beard Bros.

I can handle the shotgun and malicious threats tho. And I'm sure Mrs Radish would loan me one of her quilts.

I totally agree that posting Sherm's address was an improper thing to do. I suppose if someone really wanted to find out where someone lived, it wouldn't be hard to do.
Yet, i remember back in `74 while in training for the military near Memphis, a few of my squid buddies and I decided to trek over to Elvis Presley Blvd just to see his house from the street. Back then armed force folks stood out as we had short hair in the long hair era.
Elvis` home had brick walls all the way around except for a very ornate iron gate at to the entrance. You could see Graceland from the gate as it sits atop a knoll on the property.. Out from the guard shack adjacent to the gate come one of the guards. An older gent, maybe 55 years old, silver hair cut perfectly, pearl handled chrome revolver in holster, and his uniform look freshly pressed. Heck, the guard was a sight to see.
I'm sure he was aware we were military and we spoke for a few minutes and asked if The King was in. "No" he said, "but if you boys want to walk up near the house to take a look, you are welcome. Just don't go up to the front door steps or peer inside the windows."
We couldn't believe our offer so we all said "yes!" on the spot. He trusted us to follow his rules and stayed behind as we walked up the driveway. It was a great experience just to have that opportunity and we turned around and headed back to the gate after probably a 1 or 2 minute stay near the top of the knoll.
As we were getting close to the gate on our way back, I had a brief chance to look inside the guard shack from a distance of about 20 feet. Inside I saw about 5 or 6 beauties with straight long hair and all were wearing gowns with elbow length gloves. As the studly guard opened the gate to let us out I asked "What's the deal with all the chicks?". He said sometimes when The King comes home, he will invite some of the babes up to the house for a private party.

Damn...

Anyway, all Sherm has to do is hire a guard or 2 to hang near the front gate. He can afford it. As the guards can politely let anyone know that Sherm respects his privacy, the novelty will soon wear away and things should be more normal.

Please, fill us in on how he should have planned his living arrangements better.

We'd love to hear.

Maybe a secret bunker? Buying the house under a pseudonym? Witness protection program? Entering the house from a secret bat cave?

Cool story!

It must have been good to be The King. What a life.

Wow, apparently there are some epic LOSERS standing around in front of his house asking if they can come in and hang out with him... :34853_doh:

That is cringe worthy and embarrassing. Someone should take a picture of these socially challenged morons and shame them on the internet.
