I thought somebody was projecting we would get a 4th too?

We would have had 4, but the Rubin signing last year cancelled it out.
No, they were never getting a 4th. They would have had to lost a free agent at $6M+. Carp was just under $5M and netted a 5th. Rubin didn't actually cancel out anything because the is a 3 comp pick limitation.

That is not true. 4 is the max.

And BTW, I wasn't saying we would get a 4th round pick ($6m+ contract), I was saying we would have gotten a 4th comp pick, as Hsu tweeted, which likely was going to be a 6th rounder.
Ah OK, I stand corrected. Then the Rubin signing did cancel out a fourth compensatory pick that could have been in the 6th or more likely 7th round.

Edit: You are correct about 4 being the max. However, I think JJ & OBS fell below the cutoff for anyway. NE and PITT got the last two picks for losing free agents around $3M which is significantly more than what JJ & OBS got (around $2M). I still don't think Rubin cost a pick.

Yeah - I think JS played it well in his projection. I feel like we used out 5th and 6th to get quality depth guys who may have otherwise been cut 5th and 6th rounders simply due to the fact that we'd have 10 draft picks and probably not quite enough room for all of them on either the roster or PS.

Instead we got McCray who turned out to be a great addition and Seisay who is a solid depth addition.

Yeah, essentially first pick in the 4th, nice.

Since the cheatriots lost a draft pick in the first and the chiefs lost their third round pick, the comp 3rd the Seahawks have is essentially a third round pick...
