Lots to like.

He looks like he's learning the technique. Always around the receiver and able to tackle them. Seems to be in good position a lot.

He's still learning. He will get picked on mercilessly not unlike Maxwell did. What I want to see from him soon, is transitioning from being in position, to being in position to play the ball and getting turnovers. There have been a number of plays where he had the opportunity to get a pick and didn't. And that's to be expected.

Right now, he looks like he'll be serviceable. When he makes the next leap and begins to make game changing plays is anyone's guess. I like the fact that he's not getting completely destroyed. Once the game slows down and he can start playing the ball we will know what kind of player we have.

I don't know if that will happen this year. It's not altogether likely. Maxwell and Shead didn't achieve that level of acumen at the position after one year either. Griffin looks like he'll be ok. Just going to take some time.

Praise? He was torched last night, not deep but he needs to tight it up or teams will dink and dunk us all day.

Teams being forced to dink and dunk all day is a victory for the defense. It means the deep and intermediate stuff is gone. Very few QBs can dink and dunk all day and score enough to win.

Dink and Dunk are what you want, creates situations where the offense has to execute plays more, even when they throw a completion in comes first man for tackle second man for strip and or hit. If you watch many of the completions Shaq will tie up and the blur coming in is Thomas blasting them, you get fumbles and send a message that way. Next time that receiver goes out there not only is he trying to get open he is trying to find Thomas knowing he is coming. That disrupts concentration and can cause drops etc. as well.

Yep, ask the Bronco's that played in XLVII how dink and dunk worked for them in that game. 8)

Great learning experience for him. He kept everything in front of him, and got in a ton of reps. Plenty of great corners started out playing exactly how he did on Friday. Gave up some short passes, but also made some plays.
