Don't know about anyone else here but Sherman's press conference from either Tuesday or Wednesday did not make me very confident. He basically said the Broncos are the same team running the same plays as last year so he knows what to expect. My guess is Manning is not taking that approach to this Sunday.

What is Manning going to do so drastically different than what they did last year. The only major changes that could possibly happen are going to be because they have a few players back from injuries and they made a couple additions in the off season.
It's not like Pey Pey is gonna start throwing deep passes all of a sudden. He definitely isn't going to become a mobile QB. So what they have to go on is what they normally do. The biggest part of us winning this game I believe is going to ride on the success of our front 4 on D, and how effective DT can play against our linebackers.

This. From what I've seen this year, they haven't changed anything. There was all this talk about them running more this year......Nope. What they do really works. The only thing that's changed is their defense.

Our offense has changed drastically. It's going to be hot here on Sunday, and they're going to have Harvin running those sweeps, Richardson running those sweeps, attacking the edge against Denver's small DE's, and running fat boy PotRoast from sideline to sideline. Then kill them up the middle with zone reads.

You need to remember Richard Sherman has his Masters in communications from Stanford. His rants last year were calculated for exposure, endorsements, better contract...etc. The things he says are thought out for a certain response. The guy is smart.

As for the entire team's play last week, considering they all had hyperthermia, was still pretty good. Centurylink was built for sound, Qualcomm stadium for heat. That is the Chargers advantage in the beginning of the season. Home team gets the shade and whites where visitor gets direct sunlight and darks. Home team practices in the heat to get as acclimated as possible, the visitor is swimming in 20+ extra degrees on their no shade side of the field. Is that fair? A home time trying to kill the visiting team?

Just the dark jerseys seattle wore were 10+ more degrees. Don't forget to take in the heat index.

Your skin is 72 degrees F, your core is approximately 98.6 degrees F. If the heat index is 120+F, a human's core temp is going to be well over 101F and put the body into thermal shock. The body is in survival mode to stay alive, musculature does not work as well, brains do not work as well, senses are highly handicapped.

Yes, it was the heat. Seahawks did not prepare for the heat. I read an earlier post saying maybe next time the Hawks should practice a few days indoors with the heaters cranked up. Good idea.

Any team from the north of the country playing in that heat will be handicapped.

Go Hawks!

Peyton has been running the same offense pretty much since he came into the league, was part of the condition of him signing with Denver, sure there are some tweaks depending on player skill sets but they try to get a certain type to run it. Still looking for another Edgerrin James though.

It is truly ridiculous how the media response to Sherman has become. He gives up a few catches, a few yards, zero touchdown and raise the freakin flood gates.

All this is due to the media. Sherman likes to talk, loves to talk, but who is he talking to? Someone has to listen.
Well it's the media.

When the media asks Revis, Peterson, Haden, Cromartie, DHall, etc... (Hell, even Dee stinkin' Milliner) there opinion?
Yah, what a suprise..... all these dudes think they are as good as it gets.

So why does Sherman get so much spot light? Because he shines the brightest. He is the smartest, funniest corner in the league. He was a 5th round pick. He is the best corner in the league and it isn't very close. Stats support it. Film supports it. Team success supports it.

He gives up 3 catches, for zero explosive plays and zero touchdowns and it's national news.
How did Patrick Peterson, who claims to be better than Sherman fair? 3 penalties and a touchdown allowed to Ruedan Randle! lol

End Rant.

Yeah, not like Sherman is capable of saying one thing to the press, while actually doing something else. .....and he absolutely never spends time in the film room. Not like he'd ever think of using the press for some psychological warfare either.

Eeeeeeyeaaaaah, I'm SO NERVOUS!

LMAO at people thinking a degree in communications grants one the ability to calculate in microseconds the perfect jiu-jitsu response to any question and situation and spit out the perfect cunning answer. There are top-of-industry lawyers and politicians every bit as smart as Sherman who try to get cute or get emotional or brag and say dumb stuff all the time. So let's dispense with the notion that every word out of Sherman's mouth is part of some master plan. Sometimes he tries to be cute, sometimes he sprinkles in some honesty, sometimes he just gets emotional and shoots his mouth off.

That said he is a smart kid with an engaging personality most of the time, but also has thin skin and doesn't exhibit the best sportsmanship in the world. Sometimes that causes him to be dismissive of the other team when answering media questions, and that was probably the case here.

But as with any player responding to any question at any time, it doesn't mean much. Sherman's game performances have indicated he studies hard enough with his eyes open to what the other team is doing no matter what the pre-game trash talk has been like. He's not sitting in the DB meeting just ignoring the fact that Clady's return signifies the Broncos may be able to send their TE out on more routes which we SUCKED defending last week. Or that Emmanuel Sanders is a much different player that Decker was, and that our nickel corner is a backup to the guy who was the backup last year.

Peyton is still Peyton, but with better protection, a different slot receiver, a less-deep Hawk DL rotation to contend with, and a new nickel corner to victimize, damn right things will be different and we'll have to adapt. Just as they'll have to adapt to our offense.

Shem is fine. It's the damn LBs that stunk up the joint(Yeah KJ, I am referring to you). The new kid Burley actually played a very good game considering that it was his first with the team.
LB's not named Wagner and Kam getting up to speed need to happen. Our CB's are NOT the problem.

Once again, Sherman created the media monster for his own benefit..........so if it turns around and bites him then it's his own doing.

He can't have it both ways, just not the way it works.
