The hawks don't have to ignore every TE that is a below-average blocker if they do what other teams do: try to find OFFENSIVE LINEMEN who take care of the blocking.

The only reason we "need" a TE who is good at blocking is because we have a crappy offensive line with a crappy OL coach who doesn't know how to evaluate talent.

Fix the OL and it wouldn't matter if the TE is oje of the worst blockers in the nfl. Besides, protecting wilson should be priority #1, so opening up TE flexibility would just be an added benefit.

I love how the Hawks like to do things a little differently, but their "lets win with an intentionally bad offensive line" approach is not one of their best ideas.

Man our TE's are fine..We got a rookie (Willson) who will get better in time.We saw what he's capable of..Coop has done great with the time he gets and he isn't some old player and I like him out there..Forget about Miller he's always injured of late and who's that other guy?Injured...That old guy who is an injury fill gap is a fa and will likely be gone..We don't need to waste draft picks on TE's when we have 3 decent ones if you count Miller..So sick of hearing about TE's when we need
a WR..Lynch possible replacement..OL..There won't be $$ for big FA's..You got to sign Wagner/Russ..

Devin Funchess is a stud Tight End. He wont last past the middle of the 2nd round.

Already seen a few mocks that have Seattle taking Funchess (as if that means anything).

I would love a shot at Maxx Williams if he declares.

I just read something about this dude yesterday. Plays for Minnesota so obviously he's a road grader and doesn't get a chance to show case his plus hands. . Said if he declares he will be one of the top te's off the board.

Might get flak for this, but if Vernon Davis becomes available in the offseason I hope we make a an offer to him.

A few million and the promise of no more Kam hits might do it.
I hope they do also he has said he'd love the chance to play with us and his price may be right because of his poor showing this year. Not that I think they would do that because I see them addressing the need via the draft or some bargain hunting along with WR and then use their money to resign Wilson, Wagner and whoever of our own that we need to before spending big on a TE.

How is this for a showcase (from the Citrus Bowl today)?

Vernon Davis might not even beat Miller in a foot race.

For many years in the past it was repeated that Davis was the fastest player on the 49ers team -- two years ago, his offensive performance dropped drastically.

Serious injuries?
