I didn't desperately need to have that loss, I've been a fan of the team since the Nordstrom family got the franchise and have seen lots of heart breaking losses but never one with this amount of galactic stupidity attached to it.

It's a valid, coherent train of thought, but I would hardly call a team that suddenly re-learned what it takes to win and went on tear all the way through the playoffs -while injuries continued to mount- 'desperately' in need of some kind of wake-up call.

The explanation is much simpler, IMO. We finally sustained more injuries that we could absorb against a team of the Patriots caliber. The end.
