I think dude's going to be on his best behavior. Expect our corners to get away with absolute muggings in this one. Leavy knows he owes us one.

Would you like the moon, too?

Leavy lives and works near SF. He's had to publicly apologize for making bad calls twice. Once for XL and again for helping the 49ers beat Green Bay earlier this year. The NFL downgraded him after the latest episode.

Hopefully, he understands that a lot of attention will be on him this time around.

As long as he isn't there in a couple of months when the Seahawks play in that stadium again.

It other news the Officials crew is being shuffled, Leavy, Carey, Triplette and a new addition from the Pac 12 who recently announced his retirement. Goodell could'nt let that experience just walk away from the game.

Leavy's crew worked our MNF game with the Saints, so it's not as if this is some sort of unique experience.

Actually it was Ed Hochuli who worked that game. Mr. Guns himself

How did he help SF beat GB? If in regards to the sideline scuffle after Matthews clotheslined Kaep, there never should have been offsetting penalties. If it happened to WILSON you'd feel the same way.

Btw speaking of green bay and a ref helping a team beat them....ahem.

The replacement refs certainly made a lot of mistakes, but they were out of inexperience and they went back to their day jobs. Regular officials screw up on a regular basis and continue to get paid rather well.

That's your opinion, dude. The fact is that Leavy was downgraded by the NFL after he awarded the 49ers an extra down when he shouldn't have. The extra down resulted in a TD for the 49ers in a 34-28 victory. Afterward, Leavy apologized for wrongly awarding the 49ers an extra down. He did not apologize for the personal foul called on Staley.

After watching Super Bowl XL over again I found Leavy less obnoxious, I feel like his crew may have missed a call here or there but the Seahawks had their chances all games and blew it with dropped balls, INT's etc, all foreshadowing Russell Wilsons rise to the top of course just a few years later.
