I can see some resemblance to Turbin but imho, Gurley is a much better back. He breaks a lot of tackles, and against good teams. He's fast like Turbin, but has much better balance and not as top heavy.
I don't see him as a transcendent back either, but he's a lot better than most of the other backs I've looked at. And when he breaks through tackles for a TD, his offensive line gets pumped up much like ours when Lynch pulls a Houdini.
And he can return kick offs.
After watching his highlight tapes it's pretty impressive to see him bounce off of, and break tackles against teams like South Carolina, Alabama (for a TD), Clemson, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Buffalo, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Missouri, and Florida. So he's played against very good competition.
Somebody mentioned Jay Ajai, but I don't see him breaking any tackles, nor do I see the speed. He looks like a 3rd or 4th round back to me.
