If you have had a small child then you have experienced near miss episodes in one way shape or form, from this type of scenario to the child walking towards a steep stairwell or climbing thru the balcony or trying to or simply pushing on a screen on the third floor window and thankfully it held in place and didn't pop out.

They love and want to be with a parent, they are curious and follow you and if your multi tasking and look and say stay here and then shift attention and it takes a split second for them to be where you are or where you don't want them.

I know. And it doesn't go away when they get older. My daughter is 28 but I still worry a lot. It was worse when she was little though. In stores, if she was out of sight for 5 seconds I'd freak.
