A noob's list:

Walter Jones
Steve Hutchinson
Shaun Alexander
Mack Strong
Matt Hasselbeck
Marcus Trufant
Shawn Springs
Earl Thomas
Lofa Tatupu
Chad Brown

I'd also put Josh "is a punk" Brown in there as well because he was money in a lot of games. I also liked Bobby Engram, Julian Peterson, and Patrick Kerney.

The Hall of Famers are a given:

S Largent
C Kennedy
W Jones

That leaves 7 spots to play with

I'd include

C Warner
JL Williams
J Green
D Krieg
S Alexander
K Easley
M Hasselbeck (but R Wilson overtakes him if the Hawks make the big game this year)

Honorable mentions go to
F Young
M Strong

(My 2 favorite Hawks of all time but not in the top ten "best")

Dave Brown should be on the list but there wasn't room because I overvalue QBs. Sherman could take his place soon anyway.

there is going to be quiet a bit of "top 10 off all time seahawks" from this current era.
I wouldn't even be surprised if Byron makes it lol? Dude is just playing out of his mind right now.

Yeah but the current Hawks always seem like they will be Top 10s.

Back in 2005–2007, Lofa Tatupu would have been on everyone's Top 10 list, yet now he isn't on a single one.

Same with Mack Strong, Marcus Trufant, etc....

Actually Mack Strong just did good because he was here so long. He only became the player we know and love in the last very few years.

Marcus Trufant close to my favorite Seahawk ever put in what 10 years here and did a pretty good job with some spectacular parts in there. And of course for a outside DB made some mistakes. In my opinion the best tackler in the history of the Seahawks. If he got a hand on them he tackled them, none of this undercut crap for him. And how many rookies ever started under Holmgren?

But he will not be mentioned much. And as was said above many of the current players will be mostly forgotten in 5-7 years.

Look at Dave Brown, one of the leagues best kick/punt returners alone and few here even know who the hell he is.

:les:
Is this a fishing expedition? Brown had 11 punt returns in his career with a 6 yard average, and never returned a kick. Great player, tied for 9th on the NFL all-time INT list, just not a kick returner. In the house I grew up in, there is still a Dave Brown picture above my closet door.

Ok, first of all I have decided to make my list without the benefit of looking at others lists first. So I say this because I will
risk forgetting someone .Also I realize it's easy to list at least 15 current Seahawks without blinking an eye so I had to intentionally
fight the urge and look at the history of the team. In a way , this is also a favorites list. I know I left Mr W Jones and Cortez Kennedy off the list because it will be on ALL of your lists . My honorable mention list could go on so I had to stop at 10.

1. Matt Hasselbeck ( class, when he was at his height there weren't too many better than him)
2. Jacob Greene ( Just liked the way he played)
3. Kenny Easley ( if it weren't for his health...)
4. Russell Wilson ( Cantonbound )
5. Marshawn Lynch ( Whatched highlights today and nobody brings a collision like #24)
6. Shawn Alexander (not a personal fav but cant dismiss what he did)
7. Earl Thomas ( best safety in football)
8. Rufus Porter (under rated)
9. Chad Brown ( In his time, one of the NFLs best outside linebackers)
10. Steve Largent ( Really?)
11. Marcus Trufant ( I know its supposed to be 10 but.....)

Honorable Mention:

Brandon Browner ( personal favorite )
Curt Warner
Darrell Jackson
Mack Strong
Ken Hamlin
Michael Sinclair
Sam Adams
Dave Kreig
Bobby Engram
Nate Burleson (still ballin')
Michael Jackson (Pasco High School)

Exactly, I had the same thought. What if it were 2003-2005 ? Jeremy Stevens probably makes a list.

Harder to make the list than I expected.. and Defense is under represented. I tried to think of it in these terms: what players did the other teams have to game plan against/around, for a number of years?
Im surprised Alexander isnt on everyones list. People dont like the way he ran, and how things turned out.. but seriously, how many Seahawks have been LEAGUE MVPs?

Players it killed me to leave off: Jim Zorn, Eugene Robinson, Joe Nash, Norm Johnson, Dave Brown, John Harris, Jeff Bryant, Blair Bush, Chris Warren, Fredd Young

Players that will be on it before all is said and done:

Russel Wilson, Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas.

At this very moment in time, I will annoint no current Seahawk players because they could do something stupid or horrible in the future - in 2005 I'd have put Hutch in there and look how that worked out...

Top 3

Jones
Kennedy
Largent

The rest:

Easley
Alexander
Hasselbeck
Curt Warner
Dave Brown
Jacob Green
Mack Strong (don't care if you think Williams was a better player, 15 year one-team career as a fullback with just 4 missed games between his sophmore season and final season earns him this place).

That said, if we win the Superbowl this year I'll have to revise it. Ship out Hass, Alexander, Warner and Brown for Wilson, Lynch, Sherm and Thomas.
Even though that goes against my "no current players" rule.

Maybe he is not a player, but my all time #1 Seahawk award would go to Mr. Pete Gross. He is honestly what made me the huge fan that I am today.

can't believe so many people leave Hasselbeck off the list. it's too bad he had such a garbage team around him for hist last few years here, it unfairly damaged the way people will remember exactly what he did.

I'm going to make my list only considering from 99 and on when I really started watching the hawks as a teenager. I beleive many of the Hawk greats belong on the all time top 10 but I can't judge fairly

1. Matt Hasselbeck (29.4k pass yds 174 TD's)
2. Walter Jones (HOF)
3. Shaun Alexander (9.4k Rush yds 100 TD's)
4. Darrell Jackson (6.4K Rec yds 47 TD's)
5. Lofa Tatupu (550 tckls 8.5 scks)
6. Leroy Hill (511 tckls 20 scks)
7. Robbie Tobeck
8. Bobby Engram (399 rec's)
9. Mack Strong
10. Marshawn Lynch (4.6k rush yds 41 TD's)

Post Super Bowl Win this season
1. Russell Wilson
2. Matt Hasselbeck
3. Walter Jones
4. Shawn Alexander
5. Marshawn Lynch
6. Earl Thomas
7. Lofa Tatupu
8. Richard Sherman
9. Leroy Hill
10. Brandon Mebane
