My uncle was in the Corps in Nam. That was some nasty business, and thanks to all of you that had to eat dirt that I didn't.

What can I say, I respect those who came before me.

Called my pops today and thanked him for his service. And for being my pops. And for my amazing life.

I'm the army brat. He's the 20 year Army Chaplain veteran who retired in 1984, and then went to
work for the American Red Cross as a social worker and counselor for another 10 years, much of
that time helping military families. He also spent two years in the Air Force prior to joining the Army.

He had two tours in Viet Nam and two tours at the Cold Front in West Germany - 11th ACR Blackhorse!

Spending my first 20 years as an army brat has given me an appreciation for all things military.

Thank you to all veterans and their families of our United States Armed Forces!

As a non-American this is a bit of a odd thing to see, but yeah it's an American sport and all so do your thing.

US Army 1969-1971, drafted in the very last draft under the old local Selective Service System, which was notorious for not drafting local favorite sons of politicians and the wealthy. (The birth date draft lottery system started 1/1/1970.)

AIT, Artillery Surveyor Specialist, Ft. Sill, OK, 2/70-5/70
3rd/84th Artillery Battalion, Neckarsulm, West Germany, Pershing Nuclear Warhead Missiles, HQ Battery S-3 Staff Duty SGT, 5/70-11/71.

Returned to the real world on 11/2/1971.

You would have had to have been there to understand the sentiment.
